No game again in San Antone.  Got Gameday going but would appreciate any additional insight.  Thanks.

Just tuned in and am a bit 'preoccupied' at the moment, but'll throw some tidbits out as (more likely 'if') I notice them.

No worries.  Did Wiggy hurt himself after his AB?

Rockies go down in order in the bottom of the 2nd on 3 grounders to the right side of the infield (1st 2 were sharply hit) - 8 pitch inning for Roy.

Abercrombie struck out swinging.  Ausmus was 'robbed' on a double to the left field corner on a leaping catch by Rukkakes 3B Stewart (Ausmus hit it very hard).  Roy struck out looking.

Ianetta struck out looking.  Tulowitzki hit one on a rope to Abercrombie in center.  Francis hits a hard one-hopper to Tejada who slides left to a knee and makes the throw in plenty of time for the out.

Roy's 'stuff' is looking very similar to that from his performances the last 5ish games.

End 3: Good Guys 0, Rukkakes 0

Just showed the replay.  Hurt himself trying to beat out a throw to 1B on a grounder.

Erstad flied out to right.  Loretta doubled off the wall into the left field corner (3 feet from the foul line and 3 feet from going out).  Miggy flied out on a rope to center, to shallow for Loretta to advance.  Berkman walks on 4 pitches.  Spaz flied out to right center on a 1st pitch changeup.

Castillo walks on an 8 pitch AB.  None out, runner on 1B.

Abercrombie doubles on a first pitch shot past Stewart down the 3rd base line, Castillo advances.  None out, runners at 2B and 3B.

Ausmus struck out swinging on high heat after going ahead 3-0.  1 out, runners at 2B and 3B.

Infield in for Roy.  Rukkakes try a pitch out on the 1-1 count.  Castillo broke for home on the 2-1 count, but Roy popped the bunt up and back out of play.  Roy fouled off the next 2, but struck out on the high and outside heat.  2 outs, runners at 2B and 3B.

Erstad popped up the 1-0 offering to Barmes near the 1B line in shallow right.  3 outs, big opportunity missed there.

Middle 5: Good Guys 0, Rukkakes 0

Francis at 72 pitches (42/30).

Atkins flies out on a high fly to shallow-ish right-center.  1 out, runner at 1B.

Stewart flied out to Abercrombie in left-center on the 0-2 pitch.  2 outs, runner at 1B.

Ianetta HBP on the 0-2 offering.  2 outs, runners at 1B and 2B.

Tulowitzki hits a bouncer to Tejada's right, makes the throw to Loretta just in time to get the force on Ianetta.  3 outs.

End 5: Good Guys 0, Rukkakes 0

Roy at 48 pitches through 5 (39/9).

Loretta rolls one to 2B on the 1-2 pitch.

Miggy goes down for a pitch and flips the 1-2 offering into left for a single.  1 out, runner at 1B.

Berkman hit a liner to Barmes, Tejada back to 1B in time to beat the throw.  [Berkman 0 for his last 14].  2 outs, runner at 1B.

Spaz with the 2 run homer on a rope to left.  Good Guys 2, Rukkakes 0.  2 outs none on.

Castillo singles to right (just fair).  2 outs, runner at 1B.

Abercrombie squirts one into the hole just right of Atkins, Castillo to 3B.  2 outs, runners at the corners.

Ausmus flied out to Taveras on the 1-0 pitch (Francis 94th pitch of the night, 57/37).  3 outs.

Happy to help.  Trainers out to the mound with 2 outs and runner at 2B in the bottom of the 6th.  Roy took a couple of warm up pitches, but is staying in.

Francis struck out looking on the slow curve hitting the low-outside corner.

Barmes hit on the rear by a slow curve.  1 out, runner on 1B.

Taveras, attempting to bunt for a hit, sends it about 5 feet in front of the plate and is thrown out at 1B, runner advances to 2B.  2 outs, runner at 2B.

Trainers out to the mound.  Roy took a couple of warm up pitches, but is staying in.  Not sure what the problem was, but did not appear (per JD) to be the 'nail' problem he dealt with on the last game.

Holliday hits the 1-0 offering softly to Tejada.  3 outs.

Top 7: Francis pitching

Roy slices the 1st pitch just foul down the right field line, then sends one just under Barmes glove (E4).  Roy looked like he was grimacing just a bit.  None out, Roy on 1B.

Erstad attempts a bunt, Roy throw out at 2B.  Don't know what he was thinking there dropping down a bunt with Roy on 1B.  1 out, Erstad on 1B.

Show a couple of shots of Roy cleaning his spikes/walking around in the dugout.  JD noted that he "appeared to look fine."

Loretta lined the 2-1 pitch in front of Holliday in left, Erstad to 2B.  1 out, runners at 1B and 2B.

Pitching change

Top 7 (1 out, runners at 1B and 2B): Jason Grilli (RHP) relieves Jeff Francis

Miggy hits one to short (breaking his zillionth bat this road trip), throw to 2B in time for the force but Barmes has a bit of trouble getting the ball out of his glove and throws to 1B to late to get Miggy, Erstad advances to 3B.  2 outs, runners at the corner.

Berkman: extends his 0-fer streak to 15 with a scorched liner to 1B on the 0-2 pitch.  3 outs.

Hawpe grounds the 1-1 pitch to Loretta's right, throw to Berkman in plenty of time.  1 out, none on.

Atkins grounds the 2-0 pitch way to Tejada's right, Tejada backhands it 4-5 steps in the grass and makes a strong throw to Berkman for the out.  2 out, none on.

Stewart grounds out to on the 2-1 pitch.  3 outs.

Roy's fine, for today at least.  Whether it's a twinge in his back or groin, he's following through normally and not whipping his following leg and falling off the mound.

Top 8: Grilli (RHP) still on the mound

Spaz lined out to Atkins close to the 1B line on a 3-2 pitch.  1 out, none on.

Castillo rolls the 1-2 pitch to Atkins for the out.  2 outs, none on.

Abercrombie reached out for a low breaking ball and lines it to center, Taveras has to backhand it and Abercrombie turns on the jets for a double.  2 outs, runner on 2B.

Ausmus is intentionally walked.  2 outs, runners on 1B and 2B.

Coop keeps Roy in, and Roy singles in to right, Hawpe with a strong throw home, Abercrombie lowers his shoulder and slams in to Ianetta, but is unable to dislodge the ball.  3 outs.

Would he have been better off sliding versus seeking the contact?  I realize Reggie has to make his decision on what to do while running at full speed; just looked like it might not have been necessary to try to dislodge the ball, given how fast Reggie was approaching the plate.

Iannetta hits one up the middle, Loretta backhands it and throws to 1B for the out.  1 out, none on.

Tulowitzki walks on the 3-1 pitch.  1 out, runner at 1B.

Brad to the mound to talk with Roy, JD speculating discomfort.  Robinson also to the mound.

Smith (PH for Grilli) flies out to Abercrombie.  2 outs, runner on 1B.

Spillbourghs (PH for Barmes) grounds one to Tejada who flips it to Loretta for the force.  3 outs.

Another thing JD or Brownie were speculating about.  In any event Abercrombie didn't half-ass the attempt to dislodge the ball from Ianetta...

My "tell" on Roy is his back leg, if he whips it on the follow through or falls off the mound, it usually indicates he is having problems.  He's frequently finicky about the mound so I tend to discount him scratching around.

The back side was open, but as I know from sweeping around the tackle, in open field it's tempting to run to contact, sorry Vince.

Does that leave Miggy two GIDPs behind Ausmus?
I remember all the good times me 'n Miller enjoyed
Up and down the M1 in some luminous yo-yo toy
But the future has to change - and to change I've got to destroy
Oh look out Lennon here I come - land ahoy-hoy-hoy

I know he hit into 26 a couple of games ago.  That was either 27 or 28.

In any event Abercrombie didn't half-ass the attempt to dislodge the ball from Ianetta...

Just saw the Gameday replay.  The decision to send him doesn't matter to me as long as he goes after it like that.

Bottom 9 (0 out, Taveras at 1B): Roy still pitching

Holliday: 1-2 pitch, Taveras takes off (only 1 SB attempt byanyone against Roy this year) but Holliday fouls the offering back (1-2), ball (2-2), throw over, grounds one to 3B, Castillo dives to his left (great play) and throws to 2B just in time for the force.  1 out, runner at 1B.

Bottom 9 (1 out, runner at 1B): Good Guys 2, Rukkakes 0

Nervous as hell question of distraction for our PBP man:  was Oregon State supposed to be this bad?

Wow, Roy was badass tonight. Incredible.

He said is knee 'popped' in the 5th and scared him.

Oregon State was VERY bad for a lot of years 'til the last 4 or 5, but don't think anyone expected them to suck it up this bad this year (looked like Penn State whipped the crap out of 'em today, but'll have to wait for local news at 11 to see just how bad the reactions were to this stomping...).

Think MLB should review the hit to see if Loretta should have been given an error.  Looked like he was either picking his nose or staring longingly at Twinkie's rear instead of paying attention to the play - either way MLB should retroactively give Roy the no-no...
