Several people here at work are now complaining vigorously about the lack of 3G connectivity at certain locations around town, including their own home area. Seems 3G connectivity is lagging behind seriously with the sales of the iPhones by AT&T. However, the same folks complaining can't stop themselves from loading all kinds of shit on their new toy... errr... phone. I've never seen so many people happily tracking a hurricane with their phone.
I think I know now how people felt the first time television sets were purchased and all they had to stare at were "not broadcasting" diagrams... for hours on end. Thank goodness Wrasslin came around just in time to save those folks.
I have 21 apps on mine, ranging from a kick-arse Texas Hold 'Em game (you actually get to
see your opponent as they bet so you can look for tells), a cool crossword app that downloads free puzzles from multiple sources, sudoku etc., to things like iPhone versions of Facebook and NetFlix, to a currency converter, Bloomberg app and a thingy that makes light sabre sounds when you move the phone around.
And then there's MLB At-Bat, which will be $20 for a full season, but now that it's imbued with the full power of GameDay is worth every penny.
It all is perfectly good on a "2G" connection. But I can see how those paying $10/month more than me for 3G data would be pissed off if they don't get it.
