Berkman drives one to the right field wall for a double.  Managed to blow a bubble while rounding first.  A man of many talents.

1-0 after one, in front of a crowd of ~2,000 at MMP.

Not that he needs fielding practice, but thus far 5 of the 9 plays in this game have gone to CF.

How much is Coop supposed to coach, or any manager for that matter?  I was always under the impression that was the manager's job to manage both the players and the position coaches.  Coop may be a great coach, but his managing skills to not seem to be up to snuff, IMO.

Q hooks a runner!  Dickerson was leaning off first, and he is no more.

Mid 6th, Astros 2, Reds 0.

If Q just gets marginally better with the bat he could turn out OK (pending his attitude holds up)

On last night's postgame, Coop pretty much came out and said Hunter doesn't listen to anything Coop coaches him on... then proceeded to correct himself and just say "hardheaded" or some other euphemism.  Either way, Coop needs to shut his effin mouf.

Although I can see Hunter being like that big dumb puppy lab, sitting there panting wildly after running away while his master is cautioning "staayy, stayy.." the second the back has turned taking off again after the birds.

Is the Valverde deal Ed Wade's best moment as Astros GM so far?

It involved trading Mr .196 Chris Burke, so yes.

It wouldn't bother me one bit to see the entire coaching staff canned at this point.

Who would you replace them with? Got anyone in mind?

Well that was a fun game. Afternoon appointment gets cancelled and ten minutes later a buddy calls me up offering tickets to the game.

A day well spent.

I think they would be hard-pressed to do much worse, but when taking that opinion the source must be considered

I saw someone handing out Coach / Zipp '09 flyers in front of walgreens today.  The girl scouts were pissed.
