Berkman is correct that it shouldn't have been an error, but he still should've made the play. Roy's toss was on the money and Lance just flubbed it.

I don't think they have racially-based split stats at MLB.com.  You might have to go to Elias for that.

Here is the relevant piece from the rule book Official Scorer section 10.12:

whose misplay (fumble, muff or wild throw) prolongs the time at bat of a batter, prolongs the presence on the bases of a runner or permits a runner to advance one or more bases, unless, in the judgment of the official scorer, such fielder deliberately permits a foul fly to fall safe with a runner on third base before two are out in order that the runner on third shall not score after the catch;

Personally I wouldn't have called it an error but it is there by the letter of the law.

Cool, thanks for that.  I just thought it was weird that they'd still give him the error without the runner advancing.
