Dave Borkowski gives us his favourite baseball moments:

Remember that time I came into a close game.  And Limey posted this in the GZ.  And I gave up four million consecutive hits and got sent down to the minors...?  That was awesome.

Nice job, Kaz.  Jimmy wasn't going to muss his hair by going hard into the corner, so the extra base was a stroll.

Fuck Gary Darling.

Watching Lilly is like watching Glavine.  He floats a ton of lefty slop up there, none of which you can hit but the Ump will call a strike every once in a while because he thinks he has to.  Of course, if Astros keep swinging at eye-ball high cripple fastballs, they deserve nothing.

Watching at home.

Ok, now I get it: those who aren't at the mercy of the tv producer should avail themselves of the opportunity. I hope that Mark brought his binoculars.

God I hate Jim fucking Edmonds!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's at times like these I wish I had Adobe Photoshop.  I'd make an image of Edmonds with Johnny "The Wad" Holmes' dick in his mouth.  It would look like the most natural thing in the world.

Bourn sitting his ass on the bench is not going to help him improve.

I am late to the game. I did hear that Erstad will be playing more CF, but is it official that Bourn is riding pine? Or is it just showcasing Erstad for the deadline?

Bourn is sitting because of Ted Lilly. Towles will sit because he's embarassingly bad at the plate.

Per McTaggart"Astros manager Cecil Cooper said prior to tonight's game against the Cubs that Darin Erstad would get the majority of the playing time in center field to start the second half, meaning Michael Bourn's playing time will be cut drastically."

Per Pinwheel: "Darin Erstad into the lineup... and onto the trading block?  I'd say Darin Erstad had a very good Friday. The decision to play him regularly probably means he's being showcased to be traded. He might be the perfect pickup for a contender seeking a left-handed bat, decent defensive player and great clubhouse presence."

2 plus 2 equals 157.

Or...Erstad has done nothing but be rock solid all season, while Bourn has looked lost at the plate lately.  The Astros need to win games in a hurry, so maybe they're putting their best foot forward.

Lead the majors in run differential, and think I heard they had the top O as well (although can't confirm).

ETA: Wish Kazmat had let that hit him to bring up Puma with the bases loaded (not to mention the go ahead run).

You used to be 8 feet fucking tall at the first AC softball game when you climbed the ladder to rob me of a gapper that I'm sure I could've turned into at least one, and maybe two bases.  But probably one.

Yeah, you thought I'd forgotten.

I haven't seen Limey "hit" anything, but if he is dribbling between the mound and the on deck circle, he is way off the mark.

In his D, he is used to a flat bat, so...

We'll need all they've got in the second half, because Broke Ail isn't going to be able to contribute as much as he did in the first half.

I still have mine.  The sweatband was tight enough that it would never come off.  When you have to stand in the sun, even in England, for three hours straight, you need one.

Pence was on his way to 2nd when Miggy scored, probably was pretty close too, since Miggy took forever to read the hit.

And we left pre-fireworks. Apparently there is some kind of lightrail problem right now, so both ways are running on the northbound track.

I'd give him a single and a base advance on the throw.  But really I don't care, it was a game-winning hit.

actually one of the trains either derailed a bit or got stuck on the track.  we were up near the UH downtown station where the problem was and we watched the train spark and smoke for about 200 feet.

Just the first clip I found on The Tube.   I was in the Club Level on the 3B side, so I got to watch that sucker fly by at eye level.

What's great about that clip is that it gives a very good idea of the pandemonium in the stadium at that moment.
