Joe Buck dislikes baseball
« on: July 03, 2008, 09:54:32 am »
Thinks the games take too long, rarely watches baseball during the week, and watches the Bachelorette instead.

Says that the Fox game of the week is more important simply because he and the other douchebag "bring something special" to it.

Listen to the interview here.

Two morons.

Joe Buck is definitely a member of the Lucky Sperm Club.  If there was any justice in this world, that spoiled manchild would be sweeping up popcorn at the movie theater.

No wonder your average casual baseball fan (i.e. the type who watch baseball only on FOX) think the game is boring.

I'll never understand how anyone that actually likes baseball can like Joe Buck.

He is boring with a capital Tim McCarver.

Joe Buck dislikes baseball.

I dislike Joe Buck, so there ya go.  Maybe baseball on Fox has become a little more watchable.

Joe Buck's antiseptic style sucks as much as Royals Stadium.

I don't see any style in Joe Buck. Unless, apocryphal arrogant droning sham, is a style.

Back in the day ( I believe the 05 season ) when I went to OWA game night, I was introducing myself by my name and screen name.  Blank stares.  Then somebody says ( I believe it was Limey ), "oh yeah, the crazy guy with the bulging eye's?".  I say yes, then everybody knew.  I've gone through many avatars since then, but this avatar has always been my favorite.  I'll likely never change it again.  Sorry.  A college friend once joked with me that I used to look like that when I saw a hot babe that appealed to me.  He called me shark because of the "look" and the fact that I was fearless when I spotted my "prey".  Sometimes things worked out, sometimes not.  Numbers game.  I like to think I've mellowed somewhat since becoming a parent and well...just older (40).

I have no idea how you can remember that story from that game. All I can remember was the show sitting behind us.

Was that the stipper and one eyed stipper?  Good times.

My recollection was that the thing in question was a female that not only had been paid a visit by the ugly fairy, the fairy had taken a lead pipe to her face.  And boy was she obnoxious.  Blathering on and on at all the inappropriate moments in a loud manner (cubbies actually make a good play, the proverbial blind squirrel finding an acorn, and then you hear a drunken whooping of " Whoo-hoo, alright Ashtros! GOOOOO Athstroshes!!!").  I remember trying to slyly ("hey everybody, gather for a picture" and then aim the camera at the red headed step sister) take pictures of this unfortunate victim of the ugly fairy...hell, maybe she was the ugly fairy and decided to take in a game.  I digress.  Thinking that nobody would believe that anyone could be that sore on the eyes I figured a picture was necessary at the risk of her ghastly bad looks breaking my camera.  I do believe that I've deleted those pictures from my pc since then.  Damn shame... If Mac can keep syringes and gauze pads, the least I can do is save a picture of that.

Good times indeed.  Reunion? Or have I already missed that?

Found it.  Well not THE actual picture, but this should serve as a reasonable substitute. http://www.snopes.com/photos/animals/uglydog.asp

ETA:  You know, Bench, Waldo and HH were at that game.  I'm pretty sure the Astros played the cubbies.  Perhaps those guys might have better memories of how things went.

ETA2:  Neal was at that game.  Where the hell is that guy?  Good people, I hope he is doing alright.

I think at one point you just aimed the camera over your shoulder and clicked.

Also, the chubby chick kept adjusting her tits every 5 minutes.

Too bad Mark's initial account of the night is gone.

Ok coach.  When it was posed to me as douchebags dealing with douchebags, I rethought the issue.  I'm probably naive in underestimating the level of douchebag that Raja is and the company he keeps.

Glad to hear that all is well with Neil.  I even forgive the both of you for being lawyers.  Problem with lawyers is that you hate 'em when you get the bill, but you sure as hell love them when they are saving your ass.  I've become jaded over the past two years.  One attorney for financial matters ($$$), another for the divorce ($$$), another for civil defense ($$$).  Lesson to be learned:  if choosing marriage, choose carefully.  Sorry for the rant.

ETA: correction on spelling Neil's name.

I was at that game too, and I do remember that hideous thing behind us.

But, the Astros kicked the Cubs ass that night, so all was good. I think this was the game, no?
