I saw you on the TV, start time seven-oh-two
Lying awake intent at tuning in on you.
If I was drunk it didn't stop you coming through

Oh-a oh

They took the series, and that sucks for you and me
Beaten by horse shit and mediocrity,
and now we understand the problems we can see.

Oh-a oh

It's just the Pirates

Oh-a oh

Why can't you beat them?

Pittsburgh Killed the Open Star
Pittsburgh Killed the Open Star

Pitchers came and broke your bat.

Oh-a-a-a oh

And now we argue in the TZ to and fro.
Debate the fuckups but it seems so long ago.
Try to you remember how May used to go.

Oh-a oh

That was a good month

Oh-a oh

That was just last month!

In my mind and in the bar, we must regroup it's gone to far

Oh-a-aho oh,
Oh-a-aho oh

Pitchers came and broke your bat, here comes Ray King he's really fat

Beautiful.

I think it would be worth exploring maybe putting all these together into some sort of opera.  I know a dancer with dreams of being a librettist who could probably help out.  Let me know.
