Chacon can't let a bad call get to him like that, and Lance can't assume an out.

4-1 after one, Chacon has thrown 40 pitches after the Brewers batted around.

That call was shit. The throw beat Hart. Ten times out of ten the runner is called out in that situation, but the first base ump decided to buck the usual and appease the home fans.

Chacon let his emotions get the best of him. Tejada with a poor play on the slow roller from Hart though.

BTW, 4-1 after one.

Tejada sits and waits on the slow grounders instead of charging them, imo.

He makes a lot of plays on his heals, Furcal is the worst though. If they field the ball, they both have strong arms to make up for it, usually.

Cassel comes in to pitch.  I'm a little surprised, since the pitcher's spot is up first in the top of the 3rd.

If Chacon isnt injured, this is a sign of how impatient the Astros are in this losing streak.

Yeah, because the first base ump spotted the Brew Crew the "a," "s," and "s".

He stared down the first base ump Fieldin Culbreth walking off the mound. He has to be injured I would think.

I predict a safe call at second for the Brewers on a routine GIDP opportunity where the SS/2B doesn't actually touch the bag but steps close enough to it to get the call 99.999% of the time.

Weren't there bat shards flying all over the place on Hart's roller?

More toward Wigginton, though, don't think they were close to Tejada.

The barrel didn't even make it past the pitcher's mound, I doubt shards made it all the way out to SS.

Look, Tejada should've charged the ball more, but he still got Hart.

He did his job. The ump didn't do his.

JD offered the explanation, after IBB Fielder, that because the offense isnt providing runs, Cooper is managing "like it's late".  If that's the case, why bat Cassel?

And Lance assumed he was out, letting Braun score from second on an infield hit.

I think the ump's call might've been affected by that close pickoff attempt on Braun. Berkman and Chacon weren't happy with the call (even though it was right) and let him know it.

It's still only 1-1 at that point, with 2 on and 2 out. Chacon proceeded to implode after that, he's got to work through the call.

The best the Astros can hope for is to tie with the Oklahoma Offdays tomorrow. The way the offense is going, we probably won't even get a hit.

Or Noe will.

Yeah, gotta let this one go, this whole series, the last two games versus the Cardinals.  If the team is carrying around the previous loses, shame on them.  I do think overall Cooper is over-managing and not helping the team.  I also cannot believe that the Houston offense is missing hitting meat pitches from very average looking pitchers.  And every mistake pitch by Houston pitchers is not missed and every good pitch on the black by Houston pitchers (see: Oswalt, Roy) has been ignored.

Makes for the lousy competition by the Astros.  How is it going to turn around?  I dunno, but it usually does.

Over reacting.

Sometimes when I see Coop in the dugout he appears to be so tightly wound that I almost wonder if he isn't about to stroke out.

Just to be clear, none of the losing streak is on Cooper.  This is a team funk and the manager can over react when the team is going great and it will have a similar effect: not much.

BTW - I'm sitting here stunned at how the UofH Coogs are giving away an elimination game.  They were up by four, two outs, ninth inning and they proceed to allow four runs to cross, the last one on a passed ball.  They played that ninth like they were walking on eggshells, especially the catcher on that passed ball.

Game tied now going into extra innings.  That's a shame, this game was all but over before Houston imploded.

Just to be clear, not blaming Coop, just making an observation.

Same here.  Some people tend to read too much into when things are said in a losing streak as if it were blaming and it's not.

Houston won it 14-11 in 11 innings.  Too bad they had to go extras. Now they have to turn around and play the Aggies tonight.

Grounder to Berkman, toss to Cassel, who drops the ball. Fielder safe at first.

That game wasn't "rain", it was a "shower" of the "golden" variety.
