That call was shit. The throw beat Hart. Ten times out of ten the runner is called out in that situation, but the first base ump decided to buck the usual and appease the home fans.

Chacon let his emotions get the best of him. Tejada with a poor play on the slow roller from Hart though.

He makes a lot of plays on his heals, Furcal is the worst though. If they field the ball, they both have strong arms to make up for it, usually.

I predict a safe call at second for the Brewers on a routine GIDP opportunity where the SS/2B doesn't actually touch the bag but steps close enough to it to get the call 99.999% of the time.

The barrel didn't even make it past the pitcher's mound, I doubt shards made it all the way out to SS.

JD offered the explanation, after IBB Fielder, that because the offense isnt providing runs, Cooper is managing "like it's late". If that's the case, why bat Cassel?

I think the ump's call might've been affected by that close pickoff attempt on Braun. Berkman and Chacon weren't happy with the call (even though it was right) and let him know it.

It's still only 1-1 at that point, with 2 on and 2 out. Chacon proceeded to implode after that, he's got to work through the call.

Yeah, gotta let this one go, this whole series, the last two games versus the Cardinals. If the team is carrying around the previous loses, shame on them. I do think overall Cooper is over-managing and not helping the team. I also cannot believe that the Houston offense is missing hitting meat pitches from very average looking pitchers. And every mistake pitch by Houston pitchers is not missed and every good pitch on the black by Houston pitchers (see: Oswalt, Roy) has been ignored.

Makes for the lousy competition by the Astros. How is it going to turn around? I dunno, but it usually does.

Just to be clear, none of the losing streak is on Cooper. This is a team funk and the manager can over react when the team is going great and it will have a similar effect: not much.

BTW - I'm sitting here stunned at how the UofH Coogs are giving away an elimination game. They were up by four, two outs, ninth inning and they proceed to allow four runs to cross, the last one on a passed ball. They played that ninth like they were walking on eggshells, especially the catcher on that passed ball.

Game tied now going into extra innings. That's a shame, this game was all but over before Houston imploded.

Houston won it 14-11 in 11 innings. Too bad they had to go extras. Now they have to turn around and play the Aggies tonight.
