I'll take the blame for both of those.  Needed to pick up some innings on my fantacrap team and picked Backe up for a 1 game stint.   I should be SHOT!
In the end, my dissolution with the game of baseball will not be a result of any loss of love for the game, rather from the realization that I can no longer bear the anger its supposed stewards cause to be built up in my soul. -Lee (01/08/2013)

Kazuo and Miguel are swinging at pitches in the dirt. Is Parra's pitch that deceiving?

I'm beginning to think the Brewers announcer is dislexic.

First he says Mastui.

And now:

"They call it the BLT but they don't hit in that order, Berkman, Tejada and Lee"

LSU sure did beat up TSU.
I really wish Cameron would make an out.

My karma is a tricky thing.  It doesn't always work.

Guess I shouldn't have taken the nap after work which caused me to miss the first inning.

JD and Brownie are talking about the park.

I must say, I was not impressed with the aerial shot that Jacksonian posted in the preview.

Pinstripes do not make Fielder look any skinnier, no matter what the experts say.

Odd, small sample size, but you'd think Bourn would have a decent average with a full count.  Highly unlikely a pitcher would want to risk a walk and give him something to hit.  (.080 in 31 PAs)
edit: well less than 080 now.

backe's pitch speeds were 93 high and 40 low.

what in the world was he tossing for 40?  that is a huge difference

Ball to the ump?
Completely unrelated, is Backe always this slow in his game pace?  Slow then he goes to molassas from the stretch is someone is on base.
Another trenchant comment by a jealous lesser intellect.

BBGs and the pitcher came back to bite you there, with the final two strikes on a changeup and a slider.

Nah, Pence just fucked up.

Hoooold on a second.  What the hell are three women doing here in the GZ on the night when the "Sex and the City" movie comes out?  Isn't it some kind of a law that you're supposed to be there?

Sorry, no offense intended.  My wife left me and my little girl at home this evening like she didn't even know us (to go see the movie).

Even a bad baseball game has to be better than that movie.

Anyone think JD is reading the GZ?  He just said they may have talked fielder into that HR.  That is pretty much what Jane and I were saying.

thanks.  i wish i'd heeded that advice when i was 16!

hey jane, didn't you post something the other day about a player being
traded for maple bats?  check this out:

http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/news?slug=jp-bats052908&prov=yhoo&type=lgns

Thanks, I read that the other day.  I hope that game attendees that sit near the field will be vigilant with their awareness of where the bats are flying.  (I can't call them fans, not all of them are)

Exactly why I did not do PBP tonight.  They've lost the last 2 nights when I did.

Hadn't started a GZ thread for a bit, as they've lost 5 of the last 6 that I started as well...
