Little help here?

First pitch of the game, Rollins bunts it in the air.  Roy dives toward the 3b line to catch it on the fly.  Lands hard, but is ok.  Proceeds to get a 1-2-3 inning on <10 pitches.

Rollins popped up a bunt, Roy layed out and dived for the catch.

Bourn is just driving them nuts over there...  What, 7 throw overs and a pitch out in the Kazuo AB alone?

No, it's not. And it doesn't help that the home plate ump squeezed Roy against Utley.

Who's behind the plate? His zone is confusing me, especially after ringing up Bourn on a pitch that now suddenly seems to be a ball.

Wow. I was delighted that Howard was going on that fly, because I figured he'd be out by a mile. I didn't expect the throw to be off by a mile.

It's not like Roy's kept the rest of the league in the yard.

True. JD just said that's 15 so far this year, one more than last year in 200+ innings.

Bourn waits on his pitch, slaps it the other way for a single. Nice job!
Bourn distracts Kendrick into a couple of throws over and a pitch out...but Matsui flies out to left
Bourn steals second on an 0-2 pitch out with Miggy in the box
Tejada fouls out to the catcher
Berkman pops up to Rollins

End 5th Astros 2 Phils 5

Kendrick at 79 pitches

If we don't win tonight, it's going to be tough to split this 4 game series. I just saw the pitching matchups for the next three and it's going to be a real challenge to win more than one of those.

Yep these Phillies are the best team in baseball history. The Astros don't have a freakin' chance! Just walk off the field now, fuck it! No sense in even trying. They win on paper, game over.

Kendrick whacks a single to left (fucking fuck! get the pitcher out!)
Rollins grounds sharply to Berkman, Twinkie fires to Miggy, Miggy back to Roy for the DOUBLE PLAY. Great work boys.
Victorino singles to left, Roy shakes his head in frustration
Utley spanks one to deep center, Bourn races over and makes the catch at the wall.

Mid 6th Astros 2 Phils 5

Roy pitch count at 94

Good advice, but even with B n' Q I prefer to confine a lot of my Longhorn-related posts (and other random bullshit) to boards I've frequented for years. So invariably I happen across pedestrian Astros commentary that, as you recommend, I should avoid. It's tough sometimes.

Monday night went south for Wright when we tried to get more than an inning out of him, too. Might be worth keeping in mind in the future.

I'm not saying that it turned out he could have played it; not hardly.  I'm saying that he didn't move a muscle, and was within 2-3 inches of looking very, very foolish on the play.

normally i would agree, but I think he read that one right.  but it was close.

Not to mention why leave WW in there when a strong RH hitter was announced? A righty reliever was ready.

Makes no sense.

IMO, too close to being in play to stand there like a statue.

With Burrell up, Lee was playing deep and if it hits high of the wall there is no use running to the base of the wall and having the ball go over your head off the wall. Besides, on the replay you can clearly see Lee turning around and taking a step towards the wall and when the kid reached over, he advanced even more towards the wall.

Werth grounds to Tejada, Miggy fires to Matsui for the force, Ruiz takes out Matsui to eliminate the GIDP
Rollins singles to left, Werth to second

Nieve out, Byrdak in
Bruntlett in to pinch run for Werth at first

Victorino pops out to Tejada
Utley hits a looper just over the leaping Matsui into RF, Bruntlett scores, Rollins to third
Howard Ks swinging
