This is not the one I really want to go to, it is in October.  Why does Houston have 2 Greek festivals?

Why does Houston have 2 Greek festivals?

They tried to get by with only one, but decided that was too spartan.

At the Greek festival, a Greek saw a good looking girl walk by.  He turned to his friend the Greek and said, "I'd like to Hittite."

Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral sponsors and hosts Houston's largest Greek festival, which is the one in October.  St. Basil, a separate Greek church on the west side, hosts their own festival in May.  It's a smaller affair than the October festival, but it's still a lot of fun and an opportunity to get some good Greek food.
Lighten up, Francis.

This could be their billboard advertisement next year for the Montrose Greek Festival.

Greek Festival!  More Booze! More Bullshit! More Butt-Fucking!

IMHO most "festivals" suck.  Parking is a pain in the ass, the beer and food is overpriced and the crowds are annoying.  However, I've had one exceptional fun experience.  About eight years ago, a friend and I went to the Montrose Street Festival on lower Westheimer.  Anyhow, were just walking along in the baking heat watching all the freaks with snakes around their necks, etc.  We pass by some tranny bar and one of the trannys is hitting on my friend.  While standing outside bullshitting with trannys, a HUGE fight erupts from within the bar and droves of trannys and superfreaks come pouring out the doors beating the living shit out of each other right out in front of the bar and into the streets.  Of course we promptly got out of the way.  You would think that they are not skilled fighters, you would be wrong.  If only I had a video camera and You-Tube was around.  Great stuff.

I went to the old Westheimer Street Festival years ago.  Popped into Numbers at about 3 in the afternoon, and got to witness a full on dust up.  It involved a good samaritan who intervened when an argument between a couple turned violent and the bloke pushed his girl to the floor.  The samaritan stepped in to defend the girl, and ended up getting wailed on by both him and her.

Classic stuff.
