Paulino throwing and Randolph gone.
« on: May 08, 2008, 06:33:30 am »
Good to hear about Paulino.  I hope they are careful with him.

Why ship Randolph out?  Arms are at a premium now.  How'd he look down in RR?

Randolph had his chances and blew it. No tears here.
Often wrong, but never in doubt.

14 pitching appearances last year for Randolph with the Astros. 13.1 innings. 38 hits and walks. A 12.15 era.

Agreed.  I'm just thrilled he was doing well enough at RR to warrant a trade (albeit for the seldom-promising PTBNL).

Right. Dude had more than enough chances. Big league arm. Can't find the plate in the big leagues. I hope that he can get it together, but he's been down this road before, and his chances aren't good.

Maybe he can convert to an outfielder!

Overall, I've been pleased with our bullpen.  If the bullpen was struggling and they were looking to bring some guys up from RR . . . I imagine the likelihood of WadeSmith saying "Let's give Randolph another shot" is somewhere near the odds of me buying a Mindy McCready CD.
