Like the shallows returning to Capristrano, there are certain rituals that must happen every season to announce a change. One such ritual for the Houston Astros is the two exhibition games they get to play against the Kansas City Royals at home prior to the commencement of the real games. The ritual part is how they lay down for the Royals as if they are entirely disinterested on putting on a show for the home crowd. Houston lost 3-0 on Saturday and then 9-6 on Sunday.
What does it mean?
Means the spring training games are over and it's time for the 2005 season to begin. The St. Looie Co-ards visit the MMPUS to kick it off with Houston on Tuesday, April 5, 2005. Taking the hill for Houston will be Roy Oswalt to face off against Redbird young up and comer Chris Carpenter. Game time is 6:05 pm.
