Why am i hearing so many people kiss the cubs ass? Cubs and Tigers in the World Series. I can see the Tigers as a possibility but the Cubs are not that good.

Who cares (1) about the Cubs or (2) what anyone says about them?

The prediction ritual is an obligatory canticle.  It's a space filler and a chance to parade your bona fides in an effort to be considered as a baseball expert.  At the end they get to crow about being "right" or draw attention to their humility about being "wrong".  Plus, 162 games is just too long to wait for an outcome, and besides the games are boring.   What fun would it be just to watch them?  People need bets and other things to pay attention to.  Knowing what you're talking about is not a requirement for these trite litanies.

Bastards never told me what the other half was.

Because the world is more in touch with its feminine side, now?

Thanks Snake-Eyes.

It's a little known fact that the Kung-Fu grip was originally going to be called the "Zipper Grip".
Courage is what it takes to stand up and speak; courage is also what it takes to sit down and listen.

Unfortunately, living outside of the Houston market, I have to watch Astros/Cubs games on WGN.  Last year they referred to the 2007 season as "The Championship Season on WGN"

I don't know why year after year...choke after choke people continue to pick them.  They'll find a way to meltdown around late August.

You are aware the regular seasonin baseball is rightfully referred to as the Championship Season, and has been for over a century, yes?

Actually, I wasn't.  Interesting...I just figured the Cubs were being jerks as usual.  Thanks for the info!
