03/22/08: Reds at Astros

Just coming into the game in the middle of the 4th (watching today - MLB.TV).  Reds 3, Astros 3
Astros pitching: Backe

Astros Lineup:
Bourn, CF
Pence, RF
Berkman, 1B
Lee, LF   2

Newhan, 2B

Freel: ss, fb (3B line), b (outside), b (low outside), fb (1B/dugout), fb, b (dirt), line drive hit to Bourn (decent pitch to hit).  0 out, runner on 1B.
Hatteberg: b, smash down 1B line, good play by Berkman. 1 out, runner on 2B.
Griffey: b, doubled to warning track in center, run scores (1st earned run given up by Backe).  1 out, runner on 2B. Reds 4, Astros 3.
Phillips: cs, ss (nice curveball), fb, fb, popup to Newhan in shallow right field.  2 outs, runner on 2B.
Dunn: cs, ss, ft (off leg), b (inside), fb (back out of play), fb, b (outside, decent pitch), groundout to Newhan.

Middle 5: Reds 4, Astros 3

Bottom 5:

Pence: cs, shot down 3B line, great diving play by Encarnacion to throw Pence out at 1B.  0 on, 1 out.
Berkman: b, s, b, b, ss, b (walk). 1 out, runner on 1B.

Scoring change note: Error in 1st inning by Berkman now ruled an infield single for Dunn.  not sure if it changes the R/ER calc for Backe.
Encarnacion (0-2, strikeouts): cs, b, s, fb, b, cs (strikeout).  1 out, none on.
Gil: b, flied out to Pence in right. 2 outs, none on.
Bako: flied out to Lee in left. 3 outs.
Wright: 3 outs (1 SO, neither of the fly ball outs were close to being trouble) on 9 pitches

Hanagan (pinch hitting for Arroyo): ss, b (low outside), fb (back), cs (nice pitch, painted outside corner, bottom of the knees). 1 out
Harriston: broken bat popup to 2B. 2 outs.
Hatteberg: b (high), b (just missed inside corner at the knees), ss (inside corner), singled into center. 2 outs, runner on 1B.

Thanks for the PBP Oregon.  Williams tomorrow against the Braves in a big performance for him..

You're welcome & agreed on Williams.  Then again, if Williams was going to have to chose a day to rise from the dead (so to speak), Easter Sunday is not too bad a day for such things!
