Braves, not Mets?
I believe there ought to be a constitutional amendment outlawing AstroTurf and the designated hitter. I believe in the sweet spot, soft-core pornography, opening your presents Christmas morning rather than Christmas Eve and I believe in long, slow, deep, torture of Bud Selig.

The 9th inning was horrible.  DoRay starts the thing saying, "this is a big inning for Brocail" and details the horrors of his last few outings.  We hear strike one, and then on comes Milo.  He starts harassing some guy in the booth about his glasses, and then goofs around because some other guy wore the same shirt he has on.  And, oh yeah, Brocail gets a strike out.  Next guy, "slicing down the left side.... how about that Newhan?"  Yeah Milo how the fuck about him? What the hell happened?  "Newhan made it look easy".  Great.  So much for Brocail's big inning.  I'm, as has been the case for the past 5 years, getting play by play from the color guy.

I give a hearty late night airplane jizz that Milo is in the Hall.  For all I care he can go on a whirlwind speaking tour recreating his Aaron homerun call for the next 20 years, God willing.  But he's done.  If you want to find out what's going on in an Astros game, watch it on TV.  2008 radio is going to be a nightmare.

2007 was bad enough.  And it only seems to be getting worse.

Newhan made a nice running catch about 20 feet from the foul line and about, oh (from where I am it's hard to gauge), 15 feet from the fence. Nothing crazy, but a nice catch. Carlos made a really nice catch going back into the wall in the earlier innings. In the inning where the wheels fell off for Villareal Wigginton misjudged a pop up and Cruz bobbled a ground ball hit his way in right that allowed two runners to advance.

You know what? I have no idea where the fuck Milo is. I have not seen him in the booth at all this spring. There's an old guy up there with a beard and dark glasses and an Astros hat, but it certainly doesn't look like Milo. Unless Milo lost 50 pounds and grew a beard.

Someone was giving his crap last week about his goatee(?), and since I can't figure out what's going on for at least a third of each game I have to presume its him giving the PBP (the 9th was especially bad tonight)...

On another note, I missed Berkman's 'spectacular' first inning catch - they were going on about it being one of the best all spring.  Anyone know what the drill was on that?

Well, motherfucker, the old guy up there in the hat and glasses and the beard is Milo. It must be a sort of second youth for the old goat. I never...

There was a sharply hit liner curving towards the line that, after a pause, Berkman jumped at more than dove for and made a nice play. Not the most athletic play I have ever seen, but in a spring devoid of any sort of defense other than Q's throwing people out it was most welcome. Chacon was laughing and giving Berkman hell about it.
