Left Hand's a damn fine brewery and just down the road from me.  Their porter's terrific.  One of the best things about living in Colorado's is the amount of microbreweries.  If anybody is ever in Boulder, check out the Avery brewery.  You get as many 4 oz samples of their dozens of delicious brews.  And it's all free.  God bless free beer.

Since this came from a Left Hand, I wonder if the room spun in the opposite direction.

Yeah, but in general, microbreweries in Colorado suck.  For some reason, many think Colorado is God's gift to brewing.  I've never been able to figure out why.

Opinion noted.  Avery, Left Hand and Odell make quality beer.  I know people dis Fat Tire around these parts, but New Belgiums's 1554 is a great beer.

I've been to Avery.  It's ok, I guess.  Nothing to write home about.  Of course I don't care much for Boulder in general, so maybe it's clouding my beer judgement.

The problem with Boulder is that a large percentage of the people there are NOT from Boulder.

The problem with Boulder is that you're expected to be a certain way.  There are very strict rules for Boulder dress and attitude and taste and ways of thinking.  You can't just "come as you are".  They are a pretty intolerant bunch.

To me, New Hampshire and Vermont are God's (domestic) gift to microbrewing.  But that's just me.  Fun, quaint breweries to eat lunch/dinner at and have some great beers.

I haven't seen anyone bitching.  I've been called an asshole, but I don't think that counts as bitching.  However, a beer is probably still in order.

I lived there for 5 years a very long time ago.  I tended to hang out with the "homeless" (lived VERY well in the caves in the foothills) and the LA temps. the NAROPA crowd and one very tall personal secretary to Alan Ginsberg.

Hell, I didn't know people didn't like Fat Tire.  I had a great time checking out the brewpubs that surround Coors Field and had my first Fat Tire there.  It's not the greatest beer for sure, but it's a damn nice alternative to a lot of the thin stuff that goes for beer in most places.  Anyplace that celebrates craft brewing is ok by me.

Have you noticed the bullshit commercials that Budweiser has been running, the ones that claim that Bud brews a lager, one of the most difficult beers to brew?  And that it's clear, because a dark beer can hide imperfections?  I want to strangle my television every time those flicker onto the screen.
I'm in love with rock and roll and I'll be out all night.

Did it feel like someone was drinking your beer with their hand or using your hand to drink their beer or......nevermind.  What does this beer resemble taste wise?  Is it like IPA's which are to hoppy for my taste or more like Spaten Optimator?
