Open Letter to Adam Everett
« on: December 12, 2007, 09:04:21 pm »
Adam,

I want to wish you luck in whatever path you choose. I hope for you, your family, and the game of baseball that your playing days are not over, even if that means finishing your career with an organization other than the Houston Astros.

Coming from a former baseball player, a former shortstop, and a fan, I have never seen anyone play the position as well as you, your defense is truly a work of art. There is a lot of individual plays that I will likely forget over time, but I will never forget the unbelievable turn you made on the double play to end game 4 in the '05 NLCS. You will be missed.

Thank you for pouring your heart out for this organization on the field and upholding the level of class and professionalism that preceded you.

Sincerely,

Mike Winter

I wholeheartedly agree.

It would be a sad outcome for baseball if AE can't return to form...

Dear Adam, If you're holding this letter, you already know. The house has been boarded up. The windows, the doors, everything. We're at the Comfort Inn. Room 112. I love you. Mike.

God Bless Adam....a class act and a heck of a Shortstop and person
Remember Jesus Alou being called out of the 1st base coaching box to pinch-hit a double vs. the Reds in '79 I think, to win a crucial game, and he patted Morgan on top of the head (ala Benny Hill w/the little bald guy) and Little Joe got pissed.....yeah,that was great.

Does anyone know what the fuck happened yet?  Back?  Collision?  Scrooge?

I've always been that guy that defended AE to his buddies who thought we needed to get a SS with a better bat.  He has been my favorite player for the past few years..  so I truly am sorry to see him go.  His work at SS is an art form.
