From you title, I thought stros were trying to trade for The Gambler.

I heard Dalati on 790 at lunch and he said that the Astros and Orioles are currently in serious trade talks.  He said it's not confirmed for sure, but it's most likely for Tejada.  He said the talks are to the point that the Astros are comfortable with their offer and the Orioles are mulling it over.  He also said nothing would be made official today because it's a complicated deal.  He said he has no word on who the Astros would be sending over, but Scott and Everett are likely involved.  Dalati is usually very good with info like this, so I think it's pretty safe to assume talks are going on.

Yes, but the Astros better be prepared to assume the entire contract for Tejada in that case.  By all means, don't trade Patton.  But Wandy being in the package would be okay by me (to replace Bedard in their rotation, only because he's a lefty).

When Ortiz contact Oswalt about waving his no-trade clause at the trading deadline, Oswalt said yes only if it met certain conditions:

1. The Astros think it will improve the team here..

2. He gets send to a contender.

Ortiz was pushing for a Met trade again and again it went nowhere when the Astros said publicly "Shit no!" (not in that term eggszactly).
