Would you ever see a "story" like that in the Houston media?

Could be a creative pick-up line?

In Houston it would read like 'Player shot after following woman into restroom'

That was my initial thought too, can I wear your dress = you no longer have a dress on. However, how creative does one really need to be when your opening line is, "I play professional baseball."
"Buenos Dias, shitheads."

"I'm Kieth Hernandez" is creative enough.

That switch hitter may have been a non-roster pinch hitter.

http://www.nydailynews.com/gossip/2007/12/05/2007-12-05_new_york_minute.html

"The Mets say pitcher John Maine is the victim of an impostor who has been asking women for their outfits. Thursday, a woman named Abby Cohen called the club Touch to get "John Maine" a table at their opening night. When the man arrived, he identified himself as the Mets pitcher and asked several young ladies if he could try on their dresses (even offering a reporter $200 for hers). Despite being "recognized" as Maine by doormen and publicists for Touch, the Mets insist that he has not been in New York since October and was in Virginia on the night of incident."

Better, I suppose, than "I'm Steve Garvey."
