In checking the BA transactions for Sept. 25th, it shows the Astros reinstated RHP "Ronnie Ventura" from the Disable List.  I couldn't recall a Ventura in the system.  So I went to MILB and typed in the name.  He showed up on the Hooks roster under the name of Ronnie Martinez.  So far the birth date hasn't changed but having a name change in the middle of your career rarely works out in your favor.

I didn't notice a change in DOB.  So, the name change is very odd.  Ronnie is unlikely to see the majors regardless of last name though.

I've seen him under both names before ... maybe it's one of those compound names?  Felipe Paulino del Whatever springs to mind.
