In past years when the Astros have come so close to playoffs, but missed out, I haven't had the heart to watch the playoffs.  But I've had the TV on TBS today, kind of half paying attention while I pack for my move to Houston, and I've found myself somewhat interested.  I'm finding it doesn't hurt so much since the Astros were well out of it this year.  But at the same time there wasn't any team I was particularly interested in rooting for.  But the Rockies are starting to appeal to me.

In baseball they say momentum is as good as tomorrow's starting pitcher but the Rockies are hot as a depot stove. (sorry). Right now I'm picking them to represent the NL in the WS. And watching Cleveland whip the NYY's tonight has been fun. Their crowd is great. I think Cle v. Col. has a chance.

In the NL, I don't care as long as it's not the Cubs. 

In the AL, I am pulling for the Indians--the team of my youth.  It's been a long time since I've been a day-to-day Indians fan in the same way that I'm a day-to-day Astros fan now, but since they're in I say, Go Tribe!

I didn't think I would be very into the game tonight but I found myself pacing, whooping, and, yes, burning in effigy that Joe Torre model I painstainkingly built over the past several years.

I was pulling for the D-Backs, but after that move by the Rockies, I think I might swing to them (they were my #2 choice anyways).

As for the AL, I am rooting for Cle.  I think they are less dysfunctional than the Angels and anybody is better than NY and Bos.

It's pretty cool to be living in the playoff fever of Colorado.  This team's hot.  I wouldn't be t against them.

Good for the Rockies, going to the NLCS.  I hope Taveras makes the roster for the next round.  I heard on the broadcast tonight he's been down in the instructional league trying to come back from a quad strain.  It didn't look like he was there tonight for the celebration.

What about this merger of Miller and Coors?  Does this impact anyone's Rockie love?  Those "press conference" commercials alone are enough to make me think snakes.
