Right, I just corrected that, I got the lineup from Fox. So they had Burke starting right before game time.

I'm not complaining, but that doesn't quite capture the exasperation, since Loretta went to a 3-0 count after Biggio's walk, and then hit into the DP.  Went from promising to nothing in the 5 seconds it takes Loretta to run to first.

Lane flys out Lee slides back into second  two outs
Bruntlett another 3-1 count, lines to first on 3-2 pitch

I'd say that Lee has been worth his contract this year. It's a little scary to think of the offense without him this year.

Just trying to bring a little culture to the group.  At this rate, we should be cultured by the time the Cubs actually win a World Series.

Didn't say.  Couldn't be much.  But I've seen a couple of things saying they want to move Guillen to 1b next year and bring in a more defensive-minded SS.

Wandy is throwing the ball like a 20-game winner. Who knows what he'll look like during his next away start.

Wandy's curve looks absolutely devastating tonight, especially those last two ABs. Crazy movement.

Yup, really impressive. And like JD said, there's been absolutely nothing in the middle of the plate tonight.

And speaking of getting fooled on a curve, OP got fooled badly on that third strike.

I think that was as good as I've seen Qualls. He looked like the 2004 Lidge there: the batters had no chance.

Lidge give up a hit.  Pinwheel calls off extension talks, designates him for assignment.
I believe there ought to be a constitutional amendment outlawing AstroTurf and the designated hitter. I believe in the sweet spot, soft-core pornography, opening your presents Christmas morning rather than Christmas Eve and I believe in long, slow, deep, torture of Bud Selig.

Does Lidge have enough confidence in Munson to throw sliders here?

Come on. Of course.

You blame Munson too for Randolph's 50 foot curves?

He needs to get outs.

Not his fault.  JD was right - "Unless you're quick - and I mean Tony Gwynn quick - you can't hold back on that slider."
