I'm sure Scott Linebrink would be involved somehow, that guy's like the West Coast Lastings Milledge.

Here is what it said:
Quote
Loretta fits a different category. The veteran, hitting .302 with a 383 on-base percentage, has a one-year deal, and the Astros can capitalize on his trade value now -- for the Padres, there's a chance he would supplant Marcus Giles, who was just benched, as the second baseman, and for the Yankees, he could fill in at multiple positions, perhaps serving as an offensive upgrade over Miguel Cairo.

No word on what we would get back outside of Tim P saying any deal has to help us now and later.

That would be fantastic.  I was hoping he would fall to us in the 2nd round in 2005, but just didn't quite make it.  With Kevin K supposedly the 3B of the future, I would think Headley is available.  But he may be a bigger bargining chip than Lorretta may be able to pry away.
The test of a true champion is how he reacts to adversity on days when it is bound to come.

Linebrink is a proven quality major leaguer.  Milledge is all NY hype at this point.

Cy-Fair was my high school's rival back in the olden days.  Wouldn't it be ironic if a trade between S.D. and Houston included Linebrink and Ensberg, both apparently good friends?

It would be coincidental...not sure if Ensberg being traded for Linebrink would be considered the opposite of what one would expect.  Unless your name is Alanis...if so, carry on.

I expect to have to trade value for value.

If we traded Ensberg for Linebrink, we would be trading nothing for value.

Would that be ironic?  Or would the fact that the player the Astros released is the one representing "value" be ironic?
I believe there ought to be a constitutional amendment outlawing AstroTurf and the designated hitter. I believe in the sweet spot, soft-core pornography, opening your presents Christmas morning rather than Christmas Eve and I believe in long, slow, deep, torture of Bud Selig.

A player who could help out as roster filler at AA would be ironic when trading for Ensberg at this point.

I thought the same thing, but I think she meant SW State Bobcats since Linebrink went to HS in Austin.

Understand it...hell, we coined it.  Much smoother across the pallet than Go Stags...which the mascot was when it was Concordia Lutheran College, not to mention the irony of going from nothing in the equipment bag to a fully stocked one.

Wait a sec here, did I just mention the pallet and male genetalia in the same statement?  My apologies.

I'll give you a nerf dart gun and 2 strawberry pop-tarts for him. Those are the only things of real value currently on my desk that I can part with, but I'll sweeten the offer if you can wait until I get home.

Absolutely.  Those are the "healthy" ones.

Also, they sell pop-tarts in stick form.  Which are more portable.  Which is good, because I know I felt burdened and strained when I had to carry around a full sized pop tart.

Either, actually. I like having options. Why, do you also have a Loretta that you'd be willing to deal?
