And, yes, Lee fucked up, too, but he did not leave it short.

Quit taunting me. When everyone was complaining about Lucas before the ASB I was thinking that the duo of Brown and Lucas, painful as it was, is still better than most of the tandems in the MLB. That's how spoiled we are with Brown and JD.

Carlos Lee is an unbelievable hitter.

You're right.  Brown and Lucas was bad, but only because we're so spoiled.
JD didn't even say anything profound or hilarious to prompt my comment; he just points out things I might not otherwise notice.  He cracks me up all the time, too.  He's great.

I was listening to the Washington radio team on XM on the way home from work.  I thought the PBP guy was very good, providing lots of detail about what was going on. Most of the other teams I've listened to are not really much better than Milo, but this guy impressed me.

ETA: add omitted "not" that really changed the meaning of what I was trying to say.

Dmitri Young should be called E? or E#.

JD and Brownie were commenting earlier on his 'defensive' prowess. They agreed his best position was the batter's box.

could Qualls have decided to start his suspension before the game?
he pitched two yesterday, and it seems like he might as well start it tonight

Loretta sac fly to center scored Berkman 2-1 astros
3-run shot Young
Lee solo
4-3 Nats

I know the suspension starts tomorrow.  I was wondering if he could have opted to start it today.

This way, he won't be completely lost for an entire series, just two games with the Nats and one with the 'roots.

I hate when the Astros lose.  OWA gets pissy.

I also think Carlos only wants to hit homeruns so he doesn't have to run hard.

i thought the bounce on the plate would make it foul.

The highlight of this game has been listening to the Nats tv guys rag on Lidge at the beginning of the 9th.

They also said the Astros bullpen is hurting because they don't have Roger eating up innings.  I guess no one told them that pitching 5.1 innings isn't saving the bullpen.

I really wish I could choose the home/away feed on MLB:EI.

I apologize for being curt. The Astros are out of contention, and strategizing about what to do about the back of the bullpen against teams like the Nats and the Pirates just seems absurd. Especially since they will likely lose both series.

I'll keep watching, though.

I think the umpiring is the least of the Astros' concerns.

Biggio's three thousand and whatever it was'th hit tonight was clearly an out. Not that it mattered.

Questionable? Swing the fucking bat.

It's not that there's no point, it's just that it's absurd and a bit pathetic to be wondering about Qualls' availability at this stage.
