WHAT WE'RE HEARING

That GMs Tim Purpura and Wayne Krivsky may be in trouble in Houston and Cincinnati, respectively. Word is, the Astros are looking to make former Tigers and Padres GM Randy Smith their next GM...

From Dan Graziano in the NJ Star Ledger. Can't find anything to back this up.

I am undecided on Purp as GM.

I am not nearly so undecided about Tal's Kid.  Did we not take advantage of him enough while he was in Detroit?
I believe there ought to be a constitutional amendment outlawing AstroTurf and the designated hitter. I believe in the sweet spot, soft-core pornography, opening your presents Christmas morning rather than Christmas Eve and I believe in long, slow, deep, torture of Bud Selig.

Hunsicker had his way with Randy a time or two.  Quite sordid, really.

Is it possible to rape yourself?  I bet Randy will give it a shot.

So you're saying he's a Nirvana fan?

Keeping Lane on the active roster for so long comes pretty close.
There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, and everything else is cream cheese.

Is the word "respectively" necessary or desirable in this sentence?
E come vivo? Vivo.

Yes, otherwise it would imply that Purpura is also in trouble in Cincinnati.
