Can Bruntlett be the shortstop?
« on: July 08, 2007, 04:27:07 pm »
Bruntlett has looked very good at short.  He is very good on defense and also handles the bat well.  I think that they should give him a shot.

If someone will over pay for Everett, I would deal him for a top prospect or prospects.  With Lugo hitting .197 for Boston, I wonder if they would be interested in Everett?  Does Boston have any prospects that Houston would be interested in?  Are there any other teams that need a shortstop for the stretch drive?

It looks to me that the Astros could trade any of the following players:  Everett, Qualls, Wheeler, Jennings, Lamb, and Loretta.  I think that one or more of these guys could be traded.  They just need to have a team get desperate at the deadline and trade them some top prospects that they can use.  Remember Jeff Bagwell?

Does anybody know at this point what top prospects are out there that the Astros would be interested in?

I also like the way Albers has looked coming out of the pen.  I think that his development makes it likely that either Qualls or Wheeler will be dealt.

Sure! I'm sure Boston will be just fine with the fact that AE HAS A BROKEN LEG.

He has a broken fibula.  He should be playing in August.

LASTINGS MILEDGE!!!

Lastings Miledge is not going to be the starting shortstop, Andy. That's just stupid. Try to take this exercise seriously, please.

Why are you starting a new thread on a topic that has already been discussed, in one form or another, endlessly?

Came here to say just that. How does trading people on the DL work again?

Sorry, I missed that.  I started it because Bruntlett has been playing well and I thought it was a good topic for discussion.  Just screw it.  You guys are going to fuck with me no matter what I post.  So, just fuck off.

I don't have any interest in fucking with you. The reason I asked the question is that there've been a dozen or more threads about Adam Everett the past several weeks, and I just didn't understand why we were about to have more or less the same discussion again.

Do you think there is any realistic chance that the Astros are going to trade Everett or, if not, that Everett won't be the starting shortstop when he gets off the disabled list?

But more importantly, can he start at SS?

When you post nonsense that won't happen in reality and has already been discussed to death of course you're going to get called out on it.  AE is on the DL until at least August so therefore is pretty much untradeable anyways not to mention the whole trading the best SS in the major leagues discussion.
