Both moves are in the "can't hurt, might help" category.
I believe there ought to be a constitutional amendment outlawing AstroTurf and the designated hitter. I believe in the sweet spot, soft-core pornography, opening your presents Christmas morning rather than Christmas Eve and I believe in long, slow, deep, torture of Bud Selig.

I heard Purpura on the radio this morning saying that White was great before he went on the DL but since has not been effective.

Too bad the folks in charge pulled Saturday's game off the afternoon Fox broadcast and stuck it on the channel that doesn't broadcast beyond the beltway. Guess nothing might happen that is of great historical importance and interest to the general public.

I really hope Bidge gets his knock before then, as prior commitments preclude me from going to Houston to catch that game.

Ok, White I understand.  Why Randolph?  I thought (from reports at AAA) that he was doing great down there, and hasn't gotten much of a chance at the major league level this year.

Disclaimer: This is not whining.  It is a completely serious question.  I am trying to broaden my understanding of why this move was made.  Thank you.

Randolph was doing well in AAA, but I think what he is capable of at the major league level has been established over the years.

because he has been awful in MLB, and someone had to go to make the other moves. too bad b/c he had been doing well in AAA.
