What to do?
« on: June 20, 2007, 10:09:22 am »
FACT.  This division is winnable.  The teams ahead of us ain't shit.  We still have 12 games left with the Brewers.

FACT.  The team is much better offensively with Loretta/Lamb than Everett/Ensberg.  Berkman won't suck as much all season.  Biggio's playing time will be reduced (a bit) after #3000.

FACT.  Lidge is out, Wheeler has been scuffling and Qualls has been garbage the last month or so.  Miller is a gas can and Rick WHite is a fat old guy who has been on the DL twice this year already.

FACT.  The farm system is not stocked with players in the upper minors that other teams covet.

We seem to be in no man's land.  The outside forces (read:  the rest of the NL Central) say we can win this thing.  The internal forces (read:  the  bully breaking down, barren farm system with which to make a key deadline deal for another bat or arm, the inevitable crash of Hunter Pence down from his current production) say this isn't our year.

Lidge is going to be untradable while hurt.  Jennings has missed 50 games this season on the DL.  Ensberg is playing his way out of MLB.

We don't have the ability to make a big deal to improve the team.  We don't have players anyone else would want to get prospects for the future.

I guess we are going to have to play it out with the current group of guys.  Though I'd imagine Purp gets another bully arm for some middle of the road minor leaguer.

Thoughts?
You see pal, that's who I am, and you're nothing. Nice guy, I don't give a shit. Good father, fuck you. Go home and play with your kids. You wanna work here, close. You think this is abuse? You think this is abuse, you cocksucker? You can't take this, how can you take the abuse you get on a sit?

Right.

Who's in charge of making the peel-off graphic of Alyssa Milano?
I believe there ought to be a constitutional amendment outlawing AstroTurf and the designated hitter. I believe in the sweet spot, soft-core pornography, opening your presents Christmas morning rather than Christmas Eve and I believe in long, slow, deep, torture of Bud Selig.

If Loretta is playing short instead of Everett, who is replacing Biggio when he gets his 3000th hit?  I think that I'd almost rather have Biggio starting than either Bruntlett or Burke.
Boom!

Bruntlett is damn good at SS or 2B.
Often wrong, but never in doubt.

Right.

Wouldn't that be a peel-off graphic of Drayton? Of course, then the wins might be few and far between.

P.S. If it were up to me, I would much rather have a peel-off graphic of JLH.

Evidently, I'm missing something. Has there been an anouncement that Biggio will be benched immediately following his 3,000th hit?

I'm shocked that you don't want Bruntlett to man shortstop.  Shocked I tells ya!

Seriously, this needs to be done.
