What is Lidge doing different than before?  Did he just get rid of the cutter or was it a change in his mechanics?

Something to the effect of throwing his right elbow out instead of following straight through in his delivery. (This is one of the best baseball forums I have read in, in a while)

no, no, no--he was opening up with his left shoulder too soon in his delivery to the plate. two things result from that: his arm drags behind his body, which makes the FB up and in and the slider flat, or he rushes his arm to catch up with his body, which causes him to yank the pitch toward the LH batter's box.

we discussed that flaw in here all last season so yes, this forum is pretty damn good.
