Berkman getting a night off. Q catching Albers. Why the hell not, nothing else is working.

Could be a night to earn some brownie points with the missus.

Way to go, Phil. I love how he never stops coming with a new one. Seeing what the lineup is going to be is one of the more exciting day-to-day activities for an Astros fan. Certainly no disappointment tonight.

And yet I don't dread the lineup variations like I did when Jimy was running things.

Ok, does anybody agree with me on this?  For high-def baseball games, don't you think a better angle for the main camera would be a wide angle behind home plate rather than the normal camera from centerfield?

SF guy is a little unclear on who is catching tonight, but knows exactly what wisdom the veteran catcher is imparting to the rookie.  Classic.

Durham flies to LF on a 2-0 pitch, leading me to beliee that Purp is speed-dialing Sabean now to proclaim how well he'd fit in to our lineup.

The wild pitch means the Squatting Molina's single scores 2, not 1, giving the Jints a likely-insurmountable 2-0 lead.

Ok, goddammit, this pisses me off.  I tried to rewind the DVR to tell you, but I cannot rewind channel 302 (FSNHD).  I asked this the other day in the GZ, but is anybody here watching 302 in Houston with a DVR?  Can you rewind?  I have two cable boxes/dvrs, and I can't rewind this channel on either of them.

astros hits vs giants runs?  which one you betting on?
There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, and everything else is cream cheese.

Brownie needs Wikipedia:

Barry wears the number 75 for "personal and aesthetic reasons." At his introduction press conference with the Giants he discussed how he simply liked the way the number looked because the 7 and the 5 are like a "shelf" to hold the name Zito up (on road uniform only), and also explained that he wore 34 with USC because he was a fan of Kris Benson. Zito originally wore 53 when he debuted in 2000.

And if Ensberg goes 0-3 with two K's and BB, he should be duct taped to Lane and thrown in McCovey's cove.

I'm not opposed to this in any event.

72, 84, 71, 70, 71, 82, 70, 71.  Last 8 pitches from Zito.  Don't have to throw hard to be successful.

Brownie is detailing the biographies of the ball dudes.  Neither of whom are famous.  Not that he'd know.  It's 3-0, Brown and JD realize that the score could be gazelle to yellow for all the mystery remains in this game.

Smoked ball down the 3b line backhanded.
Ripped ball headed to RC jumped and caught.
Donut Truck makes a lucky diving catch on a complete and utter fuckup of a routine flyball.

My wife just came up with the most obscure (and probably most accurate) Separated at Birth ever.

Hunter Pence and Huntz Hall of the Bowery Boys.

http://home.earthlink.net/~bcwalk/bowery/

When the page loads, there's a little animated cell showing 3 people.  The dude on the left.  Creepy.

Lee has nutted about 4 balls in the last week that were either right at someone or just hit to the wrong part of the ballpark.

He looks like he is morphing into Jim Rome.

That's a cool one.  I like the stage where he slowly moves from a snake to a goat.  That morph happens quickly when he sees Jim Everett.

according to JD, 3rd baseman instinctively dive for the ball if moving to their left.  most 3rd Baseman dont have a glove like AE behind them.

Actually, JD said that 3rd basemen are told to get everything they can to their left. He said Morgan diving was not a good idea.

Exactly, the rule for Astros 3bs should be, 2 steps and let it go.  I noticed Morgan was positioning himself 3b/ss earlier.

Maybe Mo is trying to stay on the roster by stealing his best friend's job.  After all, his hitting stats would look a lot better as a shortstop.

Good lord.

Outscored 17-3 by a team that was under .500 before the Astros rolled into town.

Shhhhit.  That's nothing.  They lost a series to the Rangers who just got swept by Tampa Bay.

I know is shouldn't but...

For the Series:
Giants 17
Astros 16(hits)
There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, and everything else is cream cheese.

I'm trying not to look back that far. Things get blurry and I get dizzy and, well, next thing you know there's an awful lot of embarrassing explaining to do.

Any other Austinites watching the game? Who the hell are the ambigiously gay duo pimping Austin Power?
Just skimming through here, but yea, I saw them earlier...just what the hell was that crap.  Had to double take to make sure that wasn't AndyZipp.

I love that.  I also love all the copy cats who think Rome is a tough guy.

John Stossel(sp?) is the one and only.

Courage is what it takes to stand up and speak; courage is also what it takes to sit down and listen.
