My personal sleep scale:
Night before -- Day after
0-4 hours of sleep -- barely functional to non-functional
4-6 hours of sleep -- functional, yawn at desk periodically, daydream about Heather Locklear
6-7 hours of sleep -- optimal, bright-eyed and bushy-tailed (Note: Co-workers despise me in this mode)
7+ hours of sleep -- see 0-4 hours of sleep above
As Warren Zevon said, I'll sleep when I'm dead. I guess he's getting his chance to catch up now.
**All the above states can be modified/ameliorated by the careful and calculated use of amphetemines.
***The above scale assumes no alcohol intake. With moderate to heavy alcohol intake, add at least 5 hours to each level.
