Did JD just describe McCarthy as a tall drink of water?
woody is giving up long balls left and right..
I've already seen enough of Woody today.
Good Guys trail 4-0
Q takes out the ball boy down the RF line, then reaches a full count. Fouls a couple off, then flies to right near the line.Q has been playing good ball. Seems like he hits it hard quite often.4-1 Texas
im almost ready for moehler
Apparently the book on Berkman is everything up. Lance isn't doing anything with high pitches so far this year.
Teixeira up, Q to the mound to chat. FB at the letters for a strike. Change up floats outside and low, 1-1. Foul ball down the LF line, 1-2. curve in the dirt, blocked by Q, 2-2. FB right down the middle, swing and a miss. Side retired.
Well, I tried to listen to the ball game on the way home from church, but all I got was some dirty old man (Milo) fawning over some woman with beautiful eyes (Yolanda someone) and griping that she had not been in the booth before that. It was awful. Just awful.
I'm done. The bats are pathetic today.
Has the pitching been any better?
WTF, that was the most hideous rendition of God Bless America I have heard in a long time
Thank you. I thought it was a joke at first, and spent about a minute laughing really hard. I can't believe the public was subjected to that.
The baseball gods are punishing the Astros for having the roof closed on a beautiful day for baseball. Seriously, why the hell is it closed?
And I thought that it was just me thinking that.
Its just horseshit that we can't beat this club in a home series. Its not the end of the world or anything, but it is disappointing.
that song is more or less a joke-- sounds like sesame street for adults. it has always made me laugh to hear operatic types try to sing it. america the beautiful and battle hymn of the republic are far superior songs.
with Albers, Wandy and Woody? you predicted 2 of 3 or better? not i.
Don't dig the baritones, do y'all? Heh.
No. I predicted that we'd lose 2 out of 3. But I was hoping... At the beginning of the month, I predicted that Woody would win 2 in May. Now I'm not so sure.
no, it is not a joke.
you're right, joke is the wrong word. but it's just not that good of a song.
somebody needs to turn that guy's modulation button off.
Albers was a loss in my book before the game even started. He is completely jacked right now.Woody and Wandy = toss ups, so winning 2 out of 3 this series was a pipe dream, the way I saw it.I switched to Red Wings vs. Ducks after the homer to make it 6-1.
he has pitched well enough to win several. not today.i do not rememer seeing your prediction.
so that's the rotation right now: oswalt, sampson, two toss ups, and an automatic loss. it's pretty great that this team is at .500 right now, especially considering berkman's struggles.
we need Jennings back strong. probably need someone else, too, but if Wandy keeps improving....who is winning the hockey game?
I have a question about how long Pence is currently tied to the Astros. On Rotoworld, it says he makes near the mlb minimum from '07-'09 and is arbitration eligible '10-'12. Does that mean we have until 2012 to offer him a multi-year contract or can he leave in 2010?
Wandy's been looking okay, especially for a no. 5. Something's working with him.
no, he'll be retired and in the HOF by then.
Red Wings lead 1-0 with 6:50 left in the first.
Moehler coming in to "get some work," as Bill Brown says, in the 8th inning of a blowout game where the starter was knocked out with one out in the 5th.I still don't get the purpose of Moehler on this team.
Nice smartass answer. Not the answer to my son's question, though.
there is nothing in RR.
Is that true? What's the rotation down there? Anyone with any real ML potential?
write Garner a letter. he likes 12 pitchers.he is a middle inning and spot starter pitcher. he could be a 5th starter.Albers, Wandy, Woody are all shaky. Jennings' health is an issue. Moehler is good insurance for any of them. there is nothing in RR.
Agree. He's playing insurance right now, but that's okay. I personally prefer 11 pitchers or 2 bullpen lefties on a 12 man staff. Coach, how's the lefty reliever Randolph looking?
would i lie?Gutierrez is a prospect. nothing else here.
Hmm...so other than Oswalt and Pence, who are we supposed to give the Yankees for ARod?
insurance for what? starter knocked out with no outs in the 5th. moehler hasnt pitched in 10 days. borkowski backed up albers on friday. and they go with white.
man, that's a puzzler. i'd say throw in Lee, Berkman and Biggio (so he can go into the Hall as a Yankee).
I thought the Astros were going to trade for Clemens.
Oooooh. I hadn't thought about that. That would be awesome. Biggio in the Hall with NY on his cap. Pull the trigger now.
That was from Boston, I think. I hope Clemens' arm snaps clean off his fucking body in his next minor league start.I can quite honestly say I am not the least bit interested in seeing him as an Astro (player) again. No thanks.
they ALL want to go in as Yankees. every damn one of 'em.
i guess this means we won't be seeing Koby in the bigs in Sept.?
I am glad Moehler got a chance to throw a little BP today.
So, this is fun.We get to learn one of two things:1) Which of us stick around thru a 14-1 stomping, at home, to the fucking Rangers or2) Which of us would rather watch us get anihilated rather than go work in the yard or spend time with in-laws
The latter part of this decade is not going to be pretty.
Trade him to Boston so he could face his dad as a hitter. ESPN would lose their fucking minds.
