Looks like Roy is having his inning in the first.  Location is not good.

Pence needs to leave that one for Scott.  [sarcasm] I am sure Burke finds that error absolutely amusing [/sarcasm]

A little.  Left the ball up on a few though, too.

He aggressively ran for the ball, calling for it, Scott peeled off, hit Pence in the glove, dropped it.  In my opinion (which carries absolutely no weight) , shoulda been Scott's ball.

Running hard to right center. Scott was nearly camped. Scott peeled off.  Ball hit Pence's glove then the ground.  Not a difficult catch for a professional.

JaneDoe and Jacksonian,

I live out of state and have not been able to watch a lot og AB's
for Bidge... what is his story? bat speed, decison making, age plus
his proclivity to chase the slider, the leagues book on him... insight
would be appreciated

Not being patient, I think that 3000 is just on his mind too much.  Plus--HE CANT LAY OFF THE SLIDER LOW AND OUTSIDE!

Actually this was pretty well hashed out in the TZ.  Essentially, his physical ability to look fastball and adjust to an off-speed pitch have declined.  His bat speed is fine.  He looks for fastball especially in before 2 strikes.  A pitch he can drive. He won't work a walk because he can't adjust well.  With 2 strikes he protects the plate the best he can.  Book?  Keep the ball down and go sliders with 2 strikes that I've seen.

Biggio hit an inside FB down the LF line and made it to 2B without a throw. Lamb's single was softly hit. On TV it was pretty clear that it would drop, but Craig paused to make sure. I didn't think he had to, but I can't fault him.

Dunno, trying to get my 2 yr old ready to go to his brother's game.  He is pitching tonight, so I'll have to talk to you guys later.

But I do have to say that those are some UGLY beads that Livan has on.

I sort of like the idea of having some left handed bats in the lineup against a RHP. It's so crazy it just might work!

Reminds me, can someone tune into Milo and learn what groups are at MMP tonight?

I believe that I heard him say that the League of Hermanos Guapos is visiting from Sharyland.

It was a shot. Roy might not have it tonight though.

Scott homer descriptions requested ;D

He stayed back on what looked like a straight change, although with Livan I guess it could have been a fastball. A little downward motion, low and a bit in. Basically, exactly where you do not want to throw a pitch to a power hitting LHB. Luke did his job staying back on the ball and crushed the shit out of it.

Scott should be able to offer a description, he got a great look at it.

He certainly lingered a bit longer than did Lamb, but after having been rung up on a fucking bullshit call the prior AB I won't begrudge him too much.

What seems to be Roy's issue tonight;
1) location
2) picking at spots
3) can't be velocity
4) pitching with a lead and devil make care attitude
5) ump
6) all of the above

maybe nothing; just that 8 hits in 5 inning is a little pricey

No real harm done by the Snakes in the 5th, just a lot of pitches thrown. Biggio's relay on the DP attempt sure looked painful....as do most of his throws.

He has struggled with location some, and due to the (for Roy) high number of base runners, Roy has had to nibble more than he normally does.

He doesn't have his best stuff tonight in my opinion. He's been down a tad on velocity, although that seems to be picking up as the game goes on. His location has been slightly below average. The umpire has a tight horizontal strike zone, and the umpire has been a little inconsistent.

You nailed it re Biggio. I thought that I was watching an old-timers' game throw.

Was Biggio's fly out to right a slow swing or was he actually(gasp!!!) going to the opposite field with it.

I think with a 15 run lead that it more or less what they are doing.

14 hits tonight?  Wow.

Third straight Saturday with 10+ runs scored. I'll call it the Thunderpants Effect.

Oh, btw, Lidge's ERA is now under 4.00 thanks to the run that scored being unearned.

A lot of stuff.

Talked about Wandy's body language being better this year when things don't go his way.

Sorry, trying to feed 3 hungry boys.

Lamb has 7 starts this year and is hitting .500 (14 for 28) with 5 multi-hit games.

I say give him more starts.
