Snakes v Astros 5/11/2007
« on: May 11, 2007, 07:13:21 pm »
Sampson has a 1-2-3 first frame thanks a missed bunt and a great throw from Brad.

Good guys coming to bat.
There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, and everything else is cream cheese.

PENCE!!! with a bad break on the RBI double... not sure if it was catchable anyway, or if Byrnes would have scored if a good route was taken.

If Morgan was just doing his best flamingo impression and not yelling, Everett probably didn't know he was calling it. Not watching on TV, so I have no idea if thats the case or not, but Ensberg tends to just flap his arms a lot when he is calling one.

Morgan's vocal cords must be attached to whatever neuron tells him to protect the plate.

You nailed it. That's normally the SS ball, Everett had a ways to go on a not real high pop up and while tracking the ball evidently failed to see Morgan flying south for the Winter.

The replay on the D'backs broadcast clearly showed Mo was yelling "I got it!  I got it!"  But apparently AE didn't hear him.

Oh, you know, if the guys are getting on base and making something happen it's not so bad. If the pitching can keep it close this team can score a couple of runs in a heartbeat. What's to unpleasant for me is the strikeouts on pitches ten inches outside the zone. I mean, the guy's throwing 80 miles an hour. It's not like he has some 92 mph Lidgean slider that you can't lay off of.

Funny, the only ball that inning that wasn't hit all that well was Luke's. If the pitching keeps the game where it is the Astros will win this thing.

I hope Lee and Scott were hustling there and it just looked like they werent on tv.  In the replay Lee appears to pick up speed between 2nd and 3rd when the ball dropped.  Scott left the box in disgust thinking the ball was short of the fence but they didn't show him running down the line (not that he could go further than 2nd, regardless)

He hit the ball hard, but right at the centerfielder. In the words of St. Biggio, "that's baseball."

Neither could have advanced further in reality, either.

WHO THE FUCK IS CHRIS YOUNG AND WHY IS HE KILLING US?

He's a fellow Cardinal. I was impressed with how quickly he got out of the box and was hauling ass down the line. Most guys would stand around and admire a Conoco Pump blast, but he never assumed it was out and hustled down the line. I don't root for other teams' guys no matter who they are or where they came from, but I was impressed with that hustle.

Pre-Game pep talk, home clubhouse, PNC Park.

Jim Tracy: OK, boys. They have a young pitcher going for them tonite. He hasn't found his groove yet. You guys know what to do.
Let's go tear him a new one.

Team Bucco : Hell, yeah. We'll fuck him up. Let's go. AAAAAArrrrrrghhhh.

Jim Tracy: Oh yeah, one more thing they want me to tell you. We gotta wear these things tonite.

Team Bucco :.................?

He sure did.  He should have said "well, if you're gonna run me for that, I'm gonna go all Earl Weaver on your ass now".
The rules of distinction were thrown out with the baseball cap.  It does not lend itself to protocol.  It is found today on youth in homes, classrooms, even in fine restaurants.  Regardless of its other consequences, this is a breach against civility.  A civilized man should avoid this mania.

You know? Limey needs to send Gar some Earl Weaver youtube action.

I mean, that didn't look like a swing to me. But it could go either way. So get some fucking help.

And don't be a fucking pussy and toss someone who is walking back to the dugout.

What the hell are you doing here?

The whole family went to the game, meaning our 4 year old too.  She makes it to about the 5th and then we come home, put her to bed, and watch the rest on TV.

We weren't doing jackshit with me personally in attendance anyway.

Stop going to games.

Don't worry.  I don't much care for attending regular season games anyway.  Between parking, tickets, the awful food, the terrible music, and most importantly, the fucking "fans", I'd rather watch on my couch with my beer and my a/c and replays and stats.

Playoffs....that's something else.

well that half inning sucked.  at least we have PENCE!!! coming up in the ninth to tie this thing up.
