the tinkering has been kinda fun to watch. no matter what set lineup he finally decides on, it will be hard to leave Loretta as only a part-time player.
Do you think Loretta gets a set position or is he playing 1st, 2nd, Short and Third (I think he's started everywhere in the IF this year) maybe all in the same week to get his bat in the lineup? Pre 3,000 of course.
at this point sadly i dont see any place he gets a permant position. and as much as i like his play and hitting something has to be said for having his bat on the bench in times of need
MoBerg seems to be playing better of late.
At least better results. I noticed this weekend in St. Looie that he is really crowding the plate. His back foot is touching the inside of the batters box, ala Biggio. I've never noticed that from him before. Of course, that is also why he looked silly on the spin out/pop up AB yesterday, jammed the hell out of him. But if the pitch is over the plate...
you'd need a computer to keep track of all the different things he tries in the batters' box.
he seems almost too smart for his own good.
i think this is exactly right. he is a very intelligent, thoughtful guy--maybe too smart to be a good hitter b/c he thinks too much.
