Had my money on Burke.
This game is blacked out for me on MLB.TV and I live in fucking southern california.
It's the fucking FOX Saturday exclusive window. Even though none of the THREE FOX affiliates I get on DirecTV (DC, NY & LA) are showing a game right now, I'm blacked out too. Does anyone know how that IP proxy thing works? I've never been able to make it work.
The Horsecurve falls on the outside cornerheater inside, fouled off, 0-2swing and a miss on a good curve, 1 out
Hunter Pence strolls to the dish against Kippy Wellsinside FB fouled backinside FB low, 1-1inside FB, 2-1FB called strike on the outside corner at the knees, 2-2slider way outside, Pence flails at it, whiffs badly
Funny thing is I was able to get the game on mlb.tv a few weeks ago even when Fox games were on
FOX started their broadcasts earlier this year than in the past. They used to not have any games until sometime in May. Maybe they didn't amend the contract to give them exclusive access for those early games--although I doubt it. More likely, MLBTV made a mistake.
This must be a different Kip Wells then the one I'm aware of...
How does Albers look? Sounds like he's having no problems.
The one with a poor fastball and a breaking ball that he doesn't throw for a strike? That one right there? No, it's the same Kip Wells.
Penceinfield in, hard shot up the middle, Miles snags it, 2 down
Kip Wells questions the HP ump after ball 1 to Scott.
Mo w/ glasses (credited with a hit in the first)sinker lowcurve foul tipcurve swing and a miss, 1-2FB on the hands, Mo bails and pops it to Rolen. Sick.
that is BS. he is pitching very well.
Hollywood getting some grief from the fans in the outfield, turns around and yells back.
I cannot get enough of watching Anaheim Jimmy play absurdly shallow and have to chase balls back to the wall. Luke is hittin' the walls and workin' the middle.
Mike Shannon on the Jakes broadcast says Carpenter will be out for next 3 months. Surgery on Monday.
Hunter replaced the divot he created... ha
I love the big lead today, but...I can't wait until Twinkie starts hitting something more than singles. I was browsing the team batting stats and through yesterday's game Biggio was leading the team in SLG and was second in RBI (to Carlos).
GuntherBall 1Glam Slam 13-0
I figured that if anybody was capable of having his first dinger be a 5-run shot, it would be PENCE!!!!Color me disappointed.
Not me. It took Bagwell almost 8 years to hit his first GS. It only took PENCE!! a week. Obviously, he's WAY better than Bags.
I'm looking for a Coach post any minute.
where was it hit btw?
Into the visitors bullpen in left.
Did anybody else hear JD a few innings ago when Loretta was on third and Edmonds caught a fly in short center and tried to throw behind the runner?"I wonder if Mansolino was yelling 'Get back, Loretta!'"
what I figured, just curious to see if he happened to go the other way or what not.
No, got a high fastball over the outer third from the kid just up from AAA.
Yep, but it counted! Dove was wild with a funky motion.
Absolutely counted.
poor Woody
sounds almost like he had to muscle it out, if it was on the outer third and he hit it to LCF. And our rookie hitter > their rookie pitcher in that confrontation.
looked chest high over the middle to me.
The youngster can hit a FB. Hard.
Complete hypothetical:Oswalt/Jennings/Williams/Wandy/Albers/Sampson/Backe/ClemensPick your rotation for the stretch run.
Let's wait for the stretch to begin before thinking about such things.
that is more in line with a homer to LCF from a righty. Thank you.
was not a strike
Fine, I guess my point was that there is at least a potential surplus of starting arms. Jennings return is (hopefully) not too far off, and the assumption would be that Albers is sent back down, but if he keeps pitching like this it would sure be tough.
so PENCE!!! used the vlad guerrero strike zone technique
Someone very recently said, "life is not fair".
wasn't that far out, letter high over the plate.
it was up, not out.
i wonder if Purp is working the phones. Burke/Lane to AAA makes no sense even if they have options.
i meant out of the zone.
I don't think Lane has an option left. If he does, he would have to clear waivers. Burke probably has an option, but not sure about waivers.
Good job from the entire team today.Albers was nails.
if you have options, i do not think there are waivers involved. those are free, i think.
Yes there are. It has something to do with ML service time. When Bruntlett was sent down to AAA this year he had to clear waivers. There was a quote from him that he was surprised and a little disappointed that no team claimed him.

was he optioned to RR or outrighted to RR? there is a difference.i know Bruntlett had to clear waivers. so did Randolph after being DFAed.better look this up. i do not know, and neither do you.
Please do, I'm curious. Obviously, I'm not completely clear on how the whole thing works. I do remember last year when Bruntlett was sent down in August instead of Lane because, while he and Lane both had an option left, Bruntlett cleared waivers and Lane did not. But maybe the waivers were only required because it was after July 31st? Not sure.
What I noticed, yesterday and today, the Cardinals are awful.
