Lineup change?
« on: May 04, 2007, 08:21:43 am »
This topic may have been discussed in another thread. If so, I'll run laps. If not, I'd like to begin the discussion.

The Houston Comical this morning said that Garner is considering a major adjustment to the lineup with Berkman moving to RF, Lamb playing 1B and Loretta starting at 3B.

Good idea?

Here is the link. Surely Gar got that idea from OWA

That's not exactly what McTaggart said.  He said Gar wasn't opposed to playing Berkman in the outfield to get Loretta and Lamb in the game if he needed their offense.  Try Alyson Footer's version:

Notes: Berkman an option in outfield

Is the defense really better served with Lamb at first and Loretta at third rather than the other way around?

This shit started from an interview with Palilo.  Palilo is the same clown who, when asked who the next option in the minors for RF was, named Mark Saccomano.
I believe there ought to be a constitutional amendment outlawing AstroTurf and the designated hitter. I believe in the sweet spot, soft-core pornography, opening your presents Christmas morning rather than Christmas Eve and I believe in long, slow, deep, torture of Bud Selig.

I haven't seen enough of Loretta at third to judge.  But I do think Lamb is better at first than third.

Good idea?

Not on an everyday basis, but perhaps for an extended time frame to get the team going a little and allow MoBerg a chance to regroup.  But all the more reason to worry if I were Jason Lane.

Believe me - the temptation to call in and ask if Bagwell could unretire and play RF was great.
