and still Jennings is on the DL

Willy just went 5 for 6, scored 2 runs and 1 RBI in a romp over the Mets.  That ought to rile the natives.  As for Jennings status see NYCU

"Just how dumb must Purpura be to trade for damaged goods? He is the doormat of baseball GM's."

- As recited by a Palillo caller yesterday afternoon.
"Holy shit, Mozart. Get me off this fucking thing."

And that now .259 batting average would fit perfectly in the Astros lineup.
Goin' for a bus ride.

Couldn't have said it better myself.
Today seems like a good day to burn a bridge or two

Almost as dumb as Dan O'Dowd, the guy who last year offered Jennings sixteen million reasons to stay in Colorado for a couple more seasons.

Hirsch is the one Timmy Poops needs to be rooting against.  If he pitches comparable to or better than Jennings this season.... ouch.

Why?  The Rockies werent going to trade Jennings for a lousy pitcher.  Purpura knows that Hirsh is a good.  It's why he was able to trade him.  What Hirsh does in comparison to Jennings is irrelevant.  Taveras too.

It's not relevant in the  talk zone, but to GM's who want to keep their jobs, what becomes of the players they trade away is relevant.   Especially cheap pitchers who are under team control.

They want to compete this year.  They needed a top of the rotation starter to replace AP.  Hirsh is not that.  Jennings is.
You may ask yourself, "How do I work this?"

Were the Rockies just going to give up Jason Jennings? How can anyone with a brain not understand that you have to give up something to get something?  Why should anyone base their decisions on how people who dont understand this react?

I hope and pray that Purprura's aspirations are higher than matching wits with Dan "I gave Denny Neagle $55M to leave" O'Dowd.
I believe there ought to be a constitutional amendment outlawing AstroTurf and the designated hitter. I believe in the sweet spot, soft-core pornography, opening your presents Christmas morning rather than Christmas Eve and I believe in long, slow, deep, torture of Bud Selig.
