Chad Hastings repeatedly states that he is from Dallas and hates "all things Houston" and that he can never root for any team from Houston.
His bias is juvenile, as is his talent. He says "you're right", "that's right", "good point", "yes" and any other statement that shows a lack of depth of knowledge in any subject. He is an Aggie grad who criticizes and makes fun of A&M all the time, while pimping anything UT. He either sold out or is a 2 percenter.
What a douche nozzle, to borrow a phrase from this thread.
I generally don't have a problem with the two, however, when they talk baseball with Will Carroll, who is very bias, it's a free for all on subjects that particularily are of absolutely no interest to me. Rangers? Could care less. Braves? See previous. Cubs? Other than to laugh at them, what esle is there to know?
So my point really was that it is a waste of time to listen in on that segment... you won't get any real baseball talk. Just a bunch of Braves or Cub talk. Nothing more than that unless they decide to spend about 10 seconds giving a sound bite worthy analysis of the Houston Astros. On the other hand, you listen to Erin Hogan in the morning and you get really good Astros perspectives because he's a fan of the team... so the pendulum swings both ways on that station.
Having said all that, Chad Hastings rant on Friday on Don Imus was the funniest thing I've ever heard. Here is the rub though... he was *serious*. It was an incredibly ill-informed, ill-thought out, way off the mark social commentary by someone who has a lot of growing up to do on the subject of humanity and the well being of mankind. His rant was self-serving and a push back from a single minded perspective.
And he thought he was saying something smart. Too funny.
