Most JOYful Astros Win List -- Citizens Bank Park edition
« on: April 13, 2007, 11:56:19 pm »
A storied Astros Citizens Bank Park tradition has already been forged.  What is your favorite Citizens Bank Park moment?

The Astros are 9-1 all-time at the stadium, and all 9 have been incredible.

My favorite was the August 19th, 2004 game, where the Astros were down 7-2, but turned a triple play in the 5th and came back to win the game 12-10.

Biggio's game winner off of Wagner in late '05.  Ownage.

I enthusiastically concur.  Clip seems to still be available here (9/7):  The Link

The Biggio bomb off Wagner is definitely my favorite.  I remember saying before that series that I hoped Bidge got to face Wagner because I felt like it would be a good matchup.  People told me I was crazy and that it wouldn't go well for Bidge.  But I remember reading/hearing Wagner say many times that he never wanted to get beat on his second best pitch.  I knew if he ever faced Biggio he would feel compelled to go with the fastball and Bidge would know it was coming.  It happened just the way I hoped it would and was even better than I dreamed.

I also remember the series in Philly in August 2004 fondly.  The guys had just come off that comeback win in Montreal and they were taking it to the Phils.  I have a clip saved on DVD of Bidge barreling headfirst into second base, barely beating the throw for a double.  JD says with this great tone of surprise and hope "this team is playing hard Brownie, they're really going for it!" (or something close to that).  That was the start of an amazing run to the playoffs that I'll never forget.

easy decision.   Biggio's bomb off Wagner to win the game.

That three homer with grand slamwich last night was sweet. Welcome to the Astros Carlos Lee!

I like the one last year where Willy T nailed J Roll at 2nd base for a huge out in the 9th inning.  What a game that was.

Bumping this old thread for good times sake.  Over the past three days, I can't help but think back to 2004 and 2005.  Love that stadium, and how it seems to bring out the best in the 'Stros.

Houston is 15-7 all-time at CBP.

Wow, I didn't know I'd been here three years.

I still gotta go with the Biggio HR game though. Last night was awesome in its own right, though... just a lot less on the line for the good guys.

Wasn't there a Charlton Jimmerson late-inning shib there?
You may ask yourself, "How do I work this?"

I was at that game, so it's my favorite, too.

I think that may have been Washington. The one I'm thinking of was a mammoth shot to some huge wall in dead center, and I don't think CBP has that kind of architecture.
