lit up last night by Omaha--pounded. he looked to have good stuff, but it was all the same speed and up.

he should pay me to stay away. in two years, i have never seen him pitch well in person.
Often wrong, but never in doubt.

I was there too.  Very disappointing to see.

Of course, Hunter Pence hasn't exactly been lighting it up.  Even after his 2nd home run of the opening week, he is hitting just .158.  A McGwire like 2-to-1 home run to singles ratio is nice.

Pence turned a nice 9-3 DP yesterday though.

Pence looks lost at the plate, but why shouldn't he? he is so unathletic-looking, especially when he runs. he clobbered that HR to CF, though.

So what's more important "top of the order" stuff or the ability to hit spots and change locations?

Once again, he needed to do that to atone for the misplayed fly.

I liked the 2-3-2 double play on the dropped third strike. I hadn't seen that one before.

number 1 is stuff. number 1A is location. the guys with A+ stuff can miss their spots and get swing/miss or fouls. the guys that do not have that kind of stuff back up third when they miss their spots.

If he stood up straight, he'd be 2 inches taller.  He's hunchbacked a little.
