Long Island Ducks of the independent Atlantic league sign Reeshard.  The teams advertising seems to promote avian flu.

That's probably where he belongs. For now anyway. He's still young enough to pull off a comeback, but his bat was just not ready.

Think I called this on Feb. 5.  Maybe 2-3 good months will get him another shot.  Maybe.

I recall that. Good call.

So, Richard wouldn't go for being a AAA Express or AA Hook, but a Duck is okay?  Glad we got that all straightened out.

This is just speculation, but perhaps he was told (or figured) he wouldn't get much play time in AAA. If he's serious about coming back he would probably need to play a lot to do so.

He would have been a backup in AAA.  He might have gotten significant playing time at AA.  But, he'd also be available only to the Astros.  Now, if he can get his bat back, he's available to all teams.

That makes sense.  Good luck to him.
