Why the hell is the roof closed??  It's 80 degrees! Is it raining or something down there?

Rain forecasted for tonight.

My amateur forecast from Williams Tower: smog.  Lots of it.
I believe there ought to be a constitutional amendment outlawing AstroTurf and the designated hitter. I believe in the sweet spot, soft-core pornography, opening your presents Christmas morning rather than Christmas Eve and I believe in long, slow, deep, torture of Bud Selig.

Of course a good catch often results from a bad jump

Couldn't really get a good idea of his jump on the replay, but it wasn't especially shallow or far away. I'll have to assume he got a late start.

Looked like that to me.  Also looked like he had it through one and a half rotations, but dropped it on the last half-roll.

Moreover he jinxed it by predicting a win, thus causing the Pirates' first hit which came seconds later.

That was a very efficient 11 pitch fourth inning, so that helps. I would hope to get seven from RoyO.

I saw the pitch. I just thought it was funny that gamezone showed what I saw.

ROy started off a little wired until he found the zone.

Duke looks like he hasn't gotten his endurance ramped all the way up yet.

Still, this has been a pretty good pitching game.

I told someone at school today that I had to get home to see the game, and they asked if I wanted Florida or Ohio to win. For a moment, I had no idea what the fuck they were talking about.

They were equally as shocked that I was going to watch a baseball game instead of the championship.

FREE BASEBALL!

Enough.  Really.  It was a silly idea to keep sending him out last year.  The dream is over with Lidge.  The average "good closer" lasts something like 2.5 seasons.  I'm not mad.  I'm not hopping around the house or anything.  There's nothing wrong with admitting someone can't perform in this role anymore.  Just calmly move on guys.  Whether it's mental or physical or whatever.

fastball down outside, bb
Oye. Vamos, vamos.

fb down the chute looking
fb 96 in, swinging strike 0-2
slider dirt, 1-2
fb up and in 96, 2-2

JD reports 22 pitches thus far

fb outside, fouled off
fouled just outside the 1st base line ... too close
fb just inside, 3-2 ... brad not hitting his spots at all
fb down the chute and AE saves the inning with a nice catch running back into left
Oye. Vamos, vamos.

I'm just being realistic.  There are plenty of GMs who would be THRILLED to take Lidge as a project and give us a mid-level prospect.

I say take it.

Boy, did he hit the snot out of that thing.  How deep was that?

It spoiled some fat cat's dinner in the restaurant.  Watching the reply, the saddie out there bottled the catch and let it clatter around.
