Bravo, Phil.
I believe there ought to be a constitutional amendment outlawing AstroTurf and the designated hitter. I believe in the sweet spot, soft-core pornography, opening your presents Christmas morning rather than Christmas Eve and I believe in long, slow, deep, torture of Bud Selig.

It's just like I was telling Phil the other day, you don't want to mess a guy's role.

MoBerg will be in the 2 hole tomorrow night against a righty.

Two games in, and I already think Garner has lost his fucking mind.

We will see.  If he begins to run Morgan out there in the 2 slot (remains to be seen as he has not done so yet), then I agree. He has lost his mind.  Morgan was swinging his ass off again last night.  Adam handled to 2 slot perfectly.  Burke can be a huge asset hitting 7th, with lots of ducks on the pond.  I hope this trend continues, just need to get some to drop in.

sometimes baaseball is a game of inches. and i agree on adam e. he will bat where and when he is asked to. you wont see him gripe complain or run to the media with  the "why mes" he is a asset to this team in so many ways

Especially the Hoover he carries in the field.  Several Blue Star Ointment plays last night.

I like Everett as a shortstop, but I can't see batting him second.  He can't get on base.

I think you guys have worn me down on this. I'm willing to give it a look see to see how I like the idea (though I didn't like Jimy ball with the automatic sac bunt in the first inning the last time we saw AE in the two hole).

I like breaking up the outs at the bottom of the lineup, and am cautiously optimistic that AE will see a lot of FB in front of Lance and will know what to do with them. Kevin Bass said he loved the idea and that AE can definately hit a fastball- he isn't good at adjusting to slower stuff or waiting on his pitch.  He said he thought AE would thrive in this role.

The man put on a clinic in the late innings.  Running down that pop over his head in the 8th with 2 on was ridiculous.

I was extolling the virtues (to Mrs Limey) of every clean pick up and "laser" throw to Berkman.  The (then) game-saving over-the-shoulder jobbie was icing.

That was a great play P- I thought it was going to drop almost the entire time the ball  hung in the air.

He had no business fielding that ball that put Wilson on in the 10th.  Ensberg was right in front of me and when the ball was hit, he took two steps towards the bag.  Leaving the play to Everett.  3b, unless he's Aubrey Huff, takes everything he can get to. Then when the throw was off line, he ran towards 2nd in case he had to cover.  When the play was over he took a good kick at the dirt.

Maybe someone mentioned this already, but I think Footer or someone said Ensberg would bat 2nd (for now) against RHP. I'm guessing the logic is, Garner doesn't want Scott protecting Lee against LHP, but he is comfortable with that against righties. FWIW, I think Everett in the 2-spot is an interesting experiment, if he's really as good a FB hitter as they say.

BTW, heard Scott was scratched today due to a sore arm.  Lame will get the start.

Burke hitting 2nd tonight even though Garner previously said Ensberg would hit there tonight. Probably hitting Ensberg 5th because he doesn't want Lane hitting there.

How was he robbed? Adam was neck and neck in the race until several late season errors. Omar Vizquel had won the award nine other times, so it's going to be tough to supplant him.
