It's okay. God told him they have better anti-inflammatories in NYC.

BwaaahhhaaaaHaHaHaHa.  Love it. <avoiding lightning bolts> Remember that God does not give more than Andy can handle.  Or does He??? <still avoiding lightning bolts>.  I don't wish any serious injury on Miss Ego, but I will be full of good cheer this season whenever I read stories of her sore elbow, stubbed toes, back aches, ingrown toe nails, and bloated ERA.  Cue up the New York New York theme music..... Not that I'm bitter or anything...

It was only $2M more than what Houston offered.

Or so some would have us believe.

Pettitte will have a healthy September, giving him reason to exercise the option.

$4M difference in 2007 salary, actually (Astros offered $12M, Yankees $16M plus $16M option).

The $2M figure you refer to is the difference between the 2007 salary the Astros offered and the 2007 salary offer Pettitte would have accepted from the Astros.  Of course, he wanted an option on top of that.

I knew the sticking point, despite some reports, was the second year and I think Purp made the right call.

Yeah, well see if he gets any HEB commercial cameos now. You can't put a price tag on that kind of exposure.

It's been 99 years since the Cubbies have won the World Series, I say Prior should hack off a couple of fingers to break the 'curse', just to be sure.

Piniella said. "We've got [Angel] Guzman. We've got [Rocky] Cherry, who we like. No, we have plenty of pitching here." Link also see The Link other teams in the division have not been as lucky as the Astros regarding the injury bug.

What will HEB do without their trio of Pettitte, Clemens, and soon to be departed Carr?

you could always have a Berkman/Oswalt/Ausmus commercial. Roy with his bull dozer while Berkman is eating all the brisket laying on a hammock while Ausmus is throwing balls into the pool and telling Berkman he's lazy or poking him with the tongs from the bbq.
It's all part of the game.....

No? in Austin

maybe the Ausmus in the pool thing but that's about it. But the reality of it is we all can see the Big Puma finishing off a whole brisket and then just taking a cat nap.
