I believe there ought to be a constitutional amendment outlawing AstroTurf and the designated hitter. I believe in the sweet spot, soft-core pornography, opening your presents Christmas morning rather than Christmas Eve and I believe in long, slow, deep, torture of Bud Selig.

Thanks y'all.  Jimerson and Hidalgo both strike out in the top of the second.  Lane singled and scored off an E. Bruntlett double.  Heavy Q flies out to end the inning.

Poor Richard is now 1-17.

Can someone share what happened in the bottom of the first?

I only heard some of it.  Jennings was up in the zone.  They were lining hits pretty good.  Nats scored at least 3.  And Doe-Ray were complaining that they wanted to play someone besides the Nats.

Is that Dolan doing PBP early?

Whoever it is, his cadence reminds me of the great Mean Gene Okerlund.

Hidalgo in center today.  I believe this is the first time that someone other than Burke or Pence has played cf.

Anyone able to get the audio stream to work on a Mac?

I've tried it in Safari and Internet Explorer, and I can't get anything.

Their audio help page is obviously boilerplate copied from somewhere else, so that's not doing much for me.

CF Nick Logan smashes into the wall right as he gets to it, but he is okay.

Lane cruises in to 2nd for a double.

Takes ball one low.
Takes a grooved fastball, strike one.
Takes strike two, knee high spinner on the inside corner.

Had to walk away and can't do any more PBP. However, Hidalgo didn't do dick.

Inning over.

Fly out for Scott on 1st pitch I think.

Lane makes an out on a liner

Anderson weak grounder to 3B, for the final out of the inning.

My bad, I just joined in, had no idea the score, cause the wunderkins in the booth never give the score.

Plus my connection suddenly seems to be stuck in jelly, so my PBP is going to stop, can't keep up.

That's ok.  Mlb.com scoreboard has been stuck on the 5th innning for a while.  Everyone is having connection problems/slow loading, not just you.

I'm watching the game on MASN in DC.  Just wanted to add in that Lane's Homerun and Double were the definition of wind-aided.  Pence's, however ... no doubt about it.
