He had 12 stitches didn't he? He said he could see the tendons. It's going to be a while.

Not to hijack the thread, but I haven't heard Patton's name much this spring. He's listed as a NRI to the big league camp, but I don't recall him throwing in any games nor have I seen any discussion regarding his performance so far.

What gives? What am I missing?

That's what I'm missing. I forgot about the sprinkler head incident. I remember now them painting all the head red over night, and Patton showing up the next day even more embarassed.

The story,

(3/2) Infielder Brooks Conrad received 12 stitches in his left (non-throwing) wrist after he was spiked while trying to break up a double play in the fifth inning Friday. He's expected to miss about a week of action.

"It definitely could have been worse," said Conrad, who had a tetanus shot and is on antibiotics. "A couple of more centimeters over it would have gotten the tendons, and I wouldn't have been able to move anything. I was lucky."
