Sounds like a one year with an option

...$3 million but could total $7.5 million if Floyd reaches games-played and plate-appearance levels. If he does, he could become a free agent in 2008 but also could return to take the total contract up to $17.5 million. Link

That's not a bad pickup for the money, especially if Merton gives little offense in LF.
